Imagine how many assists Lin would have gotten if he had Stat out there or anybody other than Jefferies for that matter.

Of course the Lakers are up next.

It was fun while it lasted.

I'm not a Knicks fan, but I'm hoping the Linsanity lasts as long as possible, as it's entertaining as hell. He apparently got the biggest ovation from the road crowd too.

In college basketball news, huge win for Duke. Austin Rivers got game.

cavs played the heat well for most of the game tuesday night & had a solid win (without kyrie) last night against the clippers.

they're starting a 9 game home stretch and are currently only 1/2 game out of the playoffs. i'm enjoying watching them play, even when they lose they're still playing tough (for the most part). definitely an improvement over last season.

making the playoffs probably isn't the best thing for the franchise long-term but i hate playing games to lose or playing a whole season to lose in the hopes of getting higher draft picks. teams should play every game to win and who knows, sometimes strange things can happen in sports.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...

I've only watched him play vs Utah. He made a pass in that game where he was dribbling foul line extended and made a pass to one of his big men down low without ever putting a second hand on the ball. Very Steve Nash like the way it unfolded. That play alone got me thinking at the very least the guy is going to be able to get everyone involved.

No question Lin can play, but his level of success thus far probably also has a lot to do with the rest of the league's lack of familiarity with (and, to an extent, respect for) his game to this point. (And the level of comp didn't hurt.) After the last week, that'll change in hurry going forward. It'll be interesting to see how he adjusts now that he's on everybody's radar.

He has never shot in low percentage for his career wherever he played. even in limited minutes..hes averaged 40% from three.

Given that he's only played 41 games in 2 seasons in the NBA and only taken 16 threes, I wouldn't necessarily use those numbers as exemplars. In any case, now that he's the flavor of the month, with highlights on YouTube and hype on Sportscenter, he's going to see other teams coming at him in a way they probably weren't when he was just some nobody D-League call up.

He may win the individual matchup (although I suspect Derek Fisher will have his antennae up for this one). But the Laker's overall defense has actually been pretty solid this season, so he's not going to have nearly as easy a time getting where he wants to go on the floor and finding open teammates as he did against NJ, Utah, or the Wiz.

Its a good thing hes a Point Guard with a Pass first mentality.

Them coming at him will mean more assists,

I predict he will get 15 vs the Lakers.

Yeah, that's not really what I meant by "com(ing) at him."

Yeah, this is the main thing for the Knicks. Having an actual PG is going to make a huge difference to their system, even after all the hype ends and Lin's numbers even out.

Honestly the best thing about this stretch of games for the club is that they're finding out that Lin and Novak are very good role players. Novak's been overlooked a bit, but the guy can shoot.
