Didn't Dwight Howard do the same thing at the Slam Dunk contest?

Counted then, so I guess it's still a dunk.

What is up with Toronto - Bayless is first round talent and probably their most explosive scorer and they are moving him back to the bench...this kid needs minutes and a Calderon trade...

Heh, Durant's the only West all star starter not from an LA team.

I'm thinking the East's starting 5 is stronger, mostly on account of Howard being stronger than Bynum.

Honestly I just want Millsap to get an all star nod.

    Dude deserves it.

Yea he doesnt get to shine in the la or mia lime light unfortanltey. The NBA has huge problem with marketing smaller markets teams

That's because the NBA doesn't really market teams and hasn't in a long time. The NBA markets star players and small market teams have a harder time getting/keeping them.

I'd love to see Millsap get an All-Star nod, but if the Jazz get a player on the team, it'll likely be Al Jefferson (who is certainly deserving).

    Agreed with all of that.

Who picks the reserves anyway? The coach, I'm assuming?

Honestly, I respect giving the young guys a shot but when they advertise a slam dunk contest you want to see the very best dunking the hell out of the ball. Throw Bron and Dwight in, along with Griffin, then throw in a few good young guys. Make the thing matter.

i hope varejao gets an all-star reserve nod. i hope he stays a cavalier, too. we won't get back nearly enough of value or potential for what he offers every game, unless some contending team really wants him & makes a lopsided offer.

cavs play orlando tonight, dallas tomorrow. from the way i've seen the magic & the mavericks play recently, both games are definitely within reach for the cavs.
    and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...
