way to go carmelo. i hope the knicks keep losing. i don't think d'antoni was their main problem.
bulls/heat tonight, might watch some of that after the cavs/bucks game.

and i'm counting 1, counting 2, counting 3...
i don't doubt that his job was in question before but i also believe some of the other speculation out there involving their "superstars" and how he lost the locker room and all that.
either way, i don't see d'antoni being gone making the knicks any better off right now.

D'Antoni was going to be gone this season anyway.
Tick Tock, 'Melo. Tick Tock.
The excuses are being excused (coach, system, "not gelling"), but what comes when it all points at you this time?
I think his coach in Denver saw more than we thought about Carmelo. Because this is not looking good in New York
You just have to be cool about it...
Like I said: The whole POINT of Dantoni's being there was the (ultimately mistaken) belief that Lebron would want to play for the guy.
The popular choice for coach around here would have been Mark Jackson. The sentimental choice would have been Ewing. The smart chioce was Thibideau.
The only person who wanted Dantoni was Donnie Walsh.
That's why Dantoni's gone.
Because Donnie is.
D'Antoni may have been Walsh's pick, but if Dolan hadn't wanted him, he never would have been hired. Dolan is not a hands off owner; his fingerprints have been all over the Knicks since he took over. New York at large, the Knicks in general, and Dolan in particular, are all about star power and big names, and D'Antoni was a big fish in the coaching pond coming out of Phoenix. Everyone knew who he was, he was media friendly, and he coached an entertaining crowd-pleasing type of ball. Hiring a guy based on his star power and public profile without regard to how well he actually fits sounds exactly like a Dolan move to me.
Lol at the zen master coaching that Knicks squad... Could you guys imagine that
Where did he say that?
As for the roster . . . obviously they'd have to make some tweaks, but that would be the case regardless of who the next coach is. But assuming that Stoudemire hasn't gone into steep decline already, a core of Anthony, Stoudemire, and Chandler has the baseline talent to compete for the East with the right other parts around them. Are they presumptive champions? Nope, but looking at the NBA today, I don't see many, if any, of those, which is part of why (along with Jacksons' historical/sentimental ties to the franchise) it might be attractive to Jackson as a final challenge. Not saying it will happen, but I don't see any conclusive reason to rule it out, because you know damn well the Knicks are going to go after him.
I believe it was after his first tenure with the Lakers when he took the year off....he did an interview with ESPN or someone and I don't know if he said exactly that....but he basically implied he isn't just going to coach any team, that it requires the right personnel and a drive to win....the Knicks only have ONE of those requirements....and it's not the drive part

So, in other words he said something but not necessarily what you claim he said? As for the Knicks not having a drive to win . . . they had one during Linsanity when, due to the absence of Melo and Stoudemire and the rise of Lin, they had success carrying out D'Antoni's system the way he wants it to be carried out. They'd play better/harder for Jackson than they did under D'Antoni, not much doubt about that. If Jackson can implement a system that plays to the strengths of the talent he has (and he can) then there's every reason to think they'd respond, just like they responded to D'Antoni for that brief flash of games.
