But he's all about team. He would never do that.

BYC, did I ever say Rondo never lets his emotions get the best of him? It's not like I denied that he threw a basketball at a ref during the regular season. All I've said is that Rondo is the best point guard today because he's the best passer and defender at his position. You could at least direct your snark at something that I've actually said. Why not bring up Chris Paul again since you love him so much?

Rondo isn't the first team player to get thrown out of a game for getting too emotional (Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce and many others come to mind), and he won't be the last. He'll get suspended for a game because the NBA understandably has to make an example out of him, but I don't think this particular bump was that bad given the trip.

What part of "the NBA understandably has to make an example out of him" did you miss?

And your suggestion is ridiculous. The rule says one game.

The fact that it's the playoffs makes it even less likely that he'll get more than one game.

David Stern has already said that we all know what happens when someone touches a ref: they get suspended for one game.

It's not even that everybody loves Chris Paul that much (though I'll admit I'M a huge fan) it's just that your criticisms of him are so damn absurd.

I'm not a fan of Chris Paul. I just know better to think he's not a good point guard. I much prefer Deron Williams, although the terribleness of his current team is making Williams look very bad.

I hate Kobe with a passion, but he's a great player, one of the best of all time.

You said what you said, so don't be surprised that people are indeed snarking on your insane statements.

The first two items have been corrected. The third one just confirms you have a hard-on for hating on Chris Paul. Is it possible that this is based on the proposed Paul-for-Rajon Rondo rumors at the start of the season?

The point is I never said anything suggesting that Rondo has or would never lose his cool.

It's possible I think Chris Paul is overrated. Trade rumors have nothing to do with this.

Also, I said Paul was a very good player a few pages back. I simply think people praise him way too much and refuse to think critically about him.

OK, I just watched a youtube of the Rondo "bump."

There wasn't anything accidental about that. That was pretty obviously intentional. And I say this with a great deal of love for Rondo from the days of the Wildcats.
Stay away from the chimps. You can't reason with them and you'll just end up with monkey shit all over your clothes.

Which confirms that I know you have a hard-on for Chris Paul, particularly in your irrational rants you have never shown how Paul is overrated. If anyone is overrated, it's Rajon Rondo.

I'll summarize then. Paul isn't living up to his potential. He has fewer assists this year despite the fact that he has more talent around him. Also, while he is great at getting steals, he's not that great when it comes to shutting people down. I also predict he will not lead any team to a championship. He needs someone to lead him to a championship, like Kobe Bryant.

Rondo was perhaps overrated at one point, but today everyone agrees on his weaknesses: emotions and shooting. His passing has been extraordinary this season, and his defense is devastating. Those qualities, along with his skills in the lane and rebounding, are why I would take him over any other current point guard.
