Because you seem to be implying they are not able to play "real" basketball, and only street ball instead. That they lack the understanding to play organized basketball. And from that, there's also racism involved as black players cannot "understand" how "real" basketball works.

Tonight the Lakers play their 3rd straight game...against the Jazz, who haven't yet played. More team is tired...but at least we got our back-to-back-to-back out of the way early.

Older teams like the Lakers, Mavs and Celtics are really going to struggle with this compressed schedule. None of these teams have a deep bench either.

Younger teams like the Jazz and Thunder should excel in this format

The LA Clippers is one of the leagues most successful teams. Financially.

Some Im surprised the owners didnt balk at them receiving CP3..when they are notorious for throwing games to land lottery picks..showcase them, allow them to leave so they can in turn ..get another lottery pick..to start the process all over again.

The Clips are about the dollar not Championships. At least the Lakers actually want to win.

I didn't see why it should have any asterisks next to it. The season is only 15 games shorter. If anything, the regular NBA season is too long; sixty-six games is more than a large enough sample to separate the contenders from the pretenders. (Hell, they should make 66 the normal length from now on.)

My first look at Miami since I was busy. Observations so far:

Miami is fast. Much faster than last year on offense and defense.

Norris Cole is fast and looks pretty solid right now.

Bosh looks worse than last year for some reason. He looks completely out of synch with the offense. His defense is ahead of his offense right now.

LeBron looks focused right now. He's playing out of his mind already.

Wade is driving without fear.

Miami's front court looks good right now, even without a 7 footer to defend the basket. They are athletic, agile, and rotate well, even Bosh is playing well. Anthony, Haslem, Bosh, and even Juwan Howard are playing really well.

I did say right now. Which they are. Whether they will be in a few months, or weeks once the rest of the league catches up, remains to be seen.

I think Mario Chalmers just lost his job. Norris Cole is working harder, playing with more passion, making less mistakes, hitting big shots, and playing smart basketball.

Bosh looked a lot better in the 2nd half. He seems like he's destined to be the "hustle" guy of the big 3, but he has so much talent that even in that role, he's dangerous.

Miami better figure out how to bust that zone, because they fell apart again facing it. I think having Battier on the floor when zone is showing is vital. He's not going to make mistakes, and he'll make the right plays.

All of the Heat players played pretty well, except for Mario Chalmers. He cannot be making all those mistakes. At the start of the 3rd quarter, he made 4 straight turnovers that allowed the Celtics to stay in the game and infected the rest of the team with sloppy play.
