Looks more interesting now. "Gun wielding isopods...", hippie parents and an upbeat character. I can't wait to dig into this!
Guys pre order this one so it'll come back as an ongoing!
Liking the character design.
Prometheus didn't kill Tasmanian Devil...I did!
Note to reporter: Stan Silver, the 3rd Ray, didn't have a long life with the Freedom Fighters as it was shown that he was a villain about halfway through the first FF mini. Only about 5 issues of Stan all told.
Palmiotti and Gray wrote most of their FF tales with Ray Terrill in the role; he came back to the FF near the end of the first mini.
Look forward to this new series.
I guess being adopted explains a Korean American having the name Lucien(means light) Gates.
YAY! Palmiotti & Gray = gold every time
Really like Ray Terrill and won't support him getting shuffled out the door. Pass.
There's no sense in nonsense when the heat's hot.
Comic Books are fun, Comic Book fans not so much.
I"m not 100% on the character design. On the one hand it's kinda cool but on the other hand it reminds me too much of some kind of Captain Atom/The Protector (the one in the Avengers) combo. At the very least though it's a cool, clean, streamlined design...unlike much of the New 52 designs.
Here's hoping DC can kick off some new characters with their universe.
I'm debating this very question myself. I'm a bit of a Ray fiend (don't judge, but I even have that promo poster on the wall they got that actor to do of The Ray a bajillion years ago!) and, even though I think Ray is more relate-able than this guy, in all fairness I can't give it crap without giving it a try. (Or, y'know, I could, but... that'd be a d-bag move)
For those of you who were curious, that little tidbit about the super powers via balloon is the origin story of the original Ray, Happy Terrill. It's a bit heavy handed (read: not at all subtle) as far as references go, but what'chu gonna do. Personally, I'm glad Palmiotti isn't writing Ray Terrill anymore. That FF ongoing? Ouch. Ray acting like he's the last word in experienced crime fighting? Double ouch.
