Default Best indie comics? (Is this the right place for the thread?)

Sorry if I'm in the wrong forum. Independents didn't sound right, and I'm not speciffically looking for "Classic Comics", so I wasn't sure with forum to choose.

Anyways, I'm looking for a really good indie book, new or old. I'd prefer it to have a more mature tone. Any suggestions?

Also, it doesn't have to be made by Image.

Independents is the board meant for any comic (Indie/small press/Self-published) not covered by the other boards so this topic would fit here the best.

You might get better responses by mentioning what type of books you like. Are you looking for monthlies or trades? Superhero or non-superhero?

I'm currently really enjoying Severed (horror), PIGS (espionage) and Morning Glories (mystery/sci-fi light), which are all more mature books.

I'm open to anything. I would just prefer it to have a mature tone. That's my only request, haha.

I like The Boys. There's an ongoing and minis. It's mature, violent, and funny that pokes fun at the superhero genre.

There's a good variety of horror out there too. Walking Dead, Hack/Slash, and Grimm Fairy Tales are interesting.

For some good old fashioned sword and sorcery, Conan and Red Sonja make the heads roll.

Have any of you guys read Sea of Red? I'm a big fan of Remender and was wondering if it's worth checking out.

Kirby Genesis and the side books seem to be good.

I haven't read (or heard of) Sea of Red but I googled it and it looks pretty neat, I like the scratchy look of the art. Based on your stated interest in that comic I'd also suggest:

    Beasts of Burden
    Underground
    Age of Bronze
    Berlin
    Terry and the Pirates

Julian above makes some great suggestions too.
    Boycott Marvel. Make Mine Kirby.

    Default Arsenic Lullaby

    Hello!

I am a huge Arsenic Lullaby fan and as it turns out it will not be available in stores this time around - and I know not everyone has heard. Check it out and pass it on!

The King of Dark Humor has a brand new collection. Bizarre characters and despicable stories this time in full color.
