Default Skullkickers Q&A Thread...with Jim Zub!

Since our 2nd trade paperback arrives in stores today and we have 11 issues released, I figured it would be a fine time to have a semi-official thread here on the CBR forums about the series.

If you haven't read Skullkickers, now's a perfect time to start:

    • The 1st trade paperback is only $9.99! The second trade paperback is out and kicks an equal amount of ass.

    • The digital issues on comiXology are currently on sale for 99 cents each.

Anyways, if you've read the issues and want to ask questions or post your thoughts, here's a perfect place to do it. Ask away!

Does the dwarf carry such small axes to signify that he has no inadequacy issues?

No, he carries them because the smaller the axe, the easier it is to throw into an elven spine.

You're both right! He's completely confident in his own manhood and smaller axes are easier to throw.

Travelling with a massive two-handed axe seems like it would be a real hassle. Shorty can 'holster' his little axes and rock 'em out at a moment's notice. Besides dozens of little chops makes for better exercise rather than one big swing. :)

Are we going to find out where Baldy got what seems to be one of the only guns around in this world?

Yes, indeed. The origin of the gun is one of our big reveals coming in the third story arc, 'Six Shooter on the Seven Seas' that starts in April 2012.

Why decide to go with a Dwarf character?

Personally, I love Dwarves (hell that's the only reason I picked up the comic in the first place). Can't get enough of them, my favorite fantasy race HANDS DOWN... but for some stupid reason, people flock to elves (lame I know)!

PS- Best comic series out there, along side Journey into Mystery. Zub... you're a bloody genius!

I don't have any questions right now but just wanted to say that out of 70+ titles on my pull list, this title is the one I enjoy reading the most. Keep up the good work!

I'm guessing it has something to do with dwarves being funnier than elves, and with a greater ability to participate in ruf 'n tumble action.

Is there a crossover down the road with some other characters in the future ?

Thanks so much for the kind words about the series. We deeply appreciate the support.

Dwarves are just better all around. Gruff, tough and full of life while elves are detached ephemeral and hard to empathize with.

That may not be a question but it is awesome to hear. Thank you!

Do you mean other characters from another comic title or new characters added to the main cast?
