I don't know why I'm still shocked by boneheaded comments on the internet, but there we go again

Why would you be shocked? These are the folks that will ruin the industry eventually. They don't want us in the books doing anything. They don't understand their mindset is what is keeping kids away from comics. The kids who watch Young Justice, Static Shock and other cartoons don't care about skin color. They care about seeing a good story.

They don't understand you have folks that like a Static or Black Panther more than Batman or Superman. A Static book or Static on a team roster could lead to a kid reading Batman, Flash or WW.

I think it would more shocking to find out what many of these guys do for a living or where they live. Like the guy on that thread made the comment about Luke Cage being a thug-does this guy live in a city where all the black guys are thugs? How do some of these folks get like that?

He actually is pretty great in Thunderbolts. Just...don't diss Songbird anymore. That was uncalled for.

There arent any black mutants/heroes to put on the team that aren't already on the other Avengers teams (Hickman has 18 members) or X-men (Storm, Frenzy or Sunspot--and thats it).

Ok here is a premise for you:

Captain America, realizing he hasn't done enough to assist NATIVE AMERICANS assembles an Avenger team of NATIVE AMERICANS to address that.

Do this and you have a fan riot.

Substitute the term MUTANT for NATIVE AMERICAN(or Black, Hispanic or Asian) and it becomes palatable.

The thing that cracks me up about Uncanny Avengers is that the premise for the book could be used to create any sort of minority team but God forbid that anybody bring it up let alone do it.
