I thought Eddie Murphy helped write the movie, which in my mind would mean a sort of self-infliction. But then I double checked on IMDB and alas, he's not credited as a writer.

Not only that, the movie was originally supposed to have a predominately black cast. Dave Chapplle, Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, and Tracy Morgan were supposed to be in that film.
