Default CBR: Kirkman Preps "Walking Dead's" Mid-Season Finale

While his shocking AMC series remains a certifiable smash hit, Robert Kirkman busies himself with the task of upping the zombie craziness of "The Walking Dead," adapting his comics to include Shane and preparing for a mid-season finale.

If we're really lucky maybe they will just find one of Sophia's shoes for the mid-finale. That way we are guaranteed of six more episodes in the second half of the season of the gang still looking for her! Oh the excitement!

(Or at this rate preferable find her bones in gnawed little pieces)

Is anyone feeling a STARK drop-off in episode quality after the firing of the guy who made this show actually work??
    Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest

No. I think this season is vastly better than the last. Darabont and the writers completely blew season one. Darabont wanted the CDC. Awful awful awful idea and execution.

Personally, I think letting him go after the season one writers might not have been the worst idea. But who can say. I have no comparison to make on Darabont vs bad writers.

Same. It feels like this season just began and considering how long the wait was for this season i dont think they should stop showing episodes so soon.

Absolutely. The show has slowed to a crawl, pretty much. They really don't need to spend the entire season on the damn farm!
Comics still reading: Saga, Sixth Gun, Walking Dead, All New X-Men, Daredevil, Fury MAX. DC New 52 isn't the worth the paper its printed on...

I have to assume the mid-season hiatus is necessary to keep the series on schedule. As much as I enjoy a full one hour episode, it does come with costs.

I have been really down on WD over the past several weeks as the episodes just seemed to drag on with preachy monologue after preachy monologue. The strength of the series (both TV and comic) is character development, but if that's all you're getting, it becomes stale.

Last night struck the perfect balance. It may have been my favorite episode of the season. Oh, and it's official. I can't stand Andrea. She reeks of false bravado and is annoying. The comic book incarnation of her is far more interesting.

You mean the guy who did the CDC bit? I guess it worked up to that point, but if that arc was anything to go by regarding his future plans for the series, I'm glad he's gone.

I actually can see why they did the CDC episodes at the end. Because a complaint would be from non-readers of the series to ask , ok...logically why haven't they looked for a reason it happened. Or see if there is a solution or if its a worldwide deal.

But getting a few answers like , yes its a worldwide deal and many have stopped trying to find a solution due to dying and power ending , well I liked it.

I also think the season's should have points to them. We should get an entire season at Hershal's farm and plots of them traveling . Then in season 3 get to the prison and introduce Michonne .

You know, they really need to speed this thing up. If each season only lasts a few days or weeks, Carl (and presumably Sophia) are going to have to enter a time warp or something to explain their rapid puberty.

This was completely my rationale for them taking out the kids early this season; remove them entirely from the equation before you get a "Walt from LOST" on your hands.

You can always just recast the children. Its not like they have to keep them . They are barely seen. So you can recast them once they get older.

You can also launch ahead in time, too.

I don't mind the Sophia episodes,it shows y can't find someone in a hr. I suppose if we get a bunch of Zombies attacking every episode, then people would be complaining about why so many etc.
