Marvel gave an alternate universe Dazzler her own comic yet wouldn't free up Prodigy for another writer to use (if I recall correctly). I mind. I dont want to see any of the New x-men with Cyclops or Wolverine. They both have failed these kids so miserably that I would rather not see them at all than being Scott or Mr. Claw's lackeys.

There was a point in time when Julian was being compared to magneto...he was the first person he went to after being abandoned by the x-men...Magneto declined to take him.. why not go with the next best thing..besides...marvel already brought Jospeh back..they mind as well use him.

It didn't take Icarus a decade to get used in Academy X, his appearance there was largely due to his appearance in She Lies With Angels... which had been just prior.

I'm in agreement on writers though, we have a book with Dazzler as a team lead and another coming out featuring Puck as a cast member so all it takes is the right story and creative team. The X-office fell out of love with these characters after Messiah Complex and the current writers want to play with the big names or make their own toys, and I can't really blame them for it. As a writer brought in to write for the X-books, to make your mark you can either do something new and interesting with the icons (Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, etc)... or you can try to leave a legacy in a new character. The New X-Men suffer from the same fate as a lot of the student teams (New Mutants, Gen X, etc) of being neither icons or blank slates, they're the legacy of Nunzio/Christina and Kyle/Yost but not big enough names to warrant attention on their own. So do you craft a story around one or two of them while keeping track of their previous continuity or make a new character to fill that role, that if successful means you've left a mark on the franchise? Most would opt for the easier route of starting from scratch to craft their stories, which is what's happened.

Just read Legacy today!

and OMG it was so good!

I was SO happy when I saw Molina's name on the cover!

His outfit for Chamber was fantastic!

I loved seeing Blindfold shine!
