It's true. Most mechanic decks in this game requires a keeper of some kind to get it really rolling; mono decks pretty much will more or less roll regardless of the conditions.
I'll say, personally, that it's hard to be upset with mono decks in a sense. I mean, really, sticking to a basic element is such a simple idea, and isn't even thematically bothersome. On the other hand, the designers should have recognized that as an obvious mechanical and thematic draw, and already have made a substantial counter to that throughout pretty much any mechanic-based/character-based deck. I'm glad that they seem to be now, but I hope that it doesn't mean we get something like mono decks vs. Spider-Woman vs. theme decks decks as the metagame. It's also be nice if they could add mechanics that would make one want to go very broad based in terms of factors, but I'm not sure how well that works right now to say if that should be majorly adjusted or modestly so.
