Same here. I order online from The Goblin's Cavern, and books at 2.99 are 2.10 for me and books at 3.99 are 2.80.

You can get them cheaper at dcbservice.com. I would love to support my LCS on a monthly basis but comics are too expensive these days.

    Really? Sweet.

I don't have a LCS anywhere near me, explaining why I order online :p

Doesnt shipping invalidate any usefulness these services have? I guess it could work if you buy a large number of books but small pull lists it would be useless.

Yes if you have a small pull list it wouldn't save you much. I have mine shipped once a month and I think shipping is around $6-7.

What about the one in your signature? It suggests that is better.

Are you seriously implying Marvel is "in trouble"??

Are you for real, RD? Please, please tell me you were kidding.

The publishing division? Probably, given recent events.

Sorry, but I don't have a lot of confidence in a company that goes through a series of layoffs and canceling several projects, some before they are even distributed.

This is the same way I do it too. I am patient enough for once a month shipping. Books are too much. It sucks not to support the local shops but the product is too pricey and I get way more for my money now.

So....what do you foresee for Marvel when you say that they are "in trouble"? I am truly interested, hell, outright fascinated at your take on this.

I don't "forsee" anything. I can contrast previous instances where Marvel made layoffs and in similar situations where companies have made layoffs and can hypothesize that things probably aren't all that rosy for the company. When you lay people off, in many instances it's because the company didn't make the profits it planned on making and needs to make some cuts to keep things afloat.

The only think I can possibly guess would happen is that there wouldn't be a lot of expansion for the immediate future. If things REALLY get bad, I would guess that Disney would step in to take a greater economic hand in the company to help make it more profitable.

From what I've seen on CBR it's a main series of 12 biweekly issues plus a preview issue. Then every X-Family & Avengers book (except the Assembled movie themed book) for the six months will be a tie-in.

According to Bleeding Cool (so, y'know, grain of salt), it's mainly the "core" books of each franchise. Brevoort's said Thunderbolts won't cross over.
