When were paying at $16.99 at least for 5 issue trades from Marvel DC are putting theirs out for $14.99 for 6-7 issues.

Marvel also tend to put 4 issue trades out with reprinted material which makes this in my eyes a big step forward for the fans of collected editions.

Marvel need to look at their irregular trade pricing.
Two quick solutions - Amazon or pre-orders.

Even the Collision (X-23/Daken) HC is going for $15 on Amazon and that collects eight issues originally priced at $3 an issue. You'll see a lot of Marvel trades around the $10-12 range.

Consumers should try shopping smarter. ;)

Between Amazon, Barnes & Noble coupons, and The Strand, I don't think I've paid cover price for a collection in years.

So DC will still be a lot cheaper. In the UK we dont see that much discount.

im more likely to stop buying a comic which is not all that great if it comes out more than once a month on a regular basis.

so if marvel is going to put out comics more than once a month they had better make sure theyre great.

    I think that's a pretty wise plan.

Double shipping....my viewpoints are mainly cynical, that the artwork will be hurt or they'll rotate art teams faster to make sure 14 books a year instead of 12, or that stories will be padded with extra filler diluting my enjoyment because they want me to buy more issues.

FF got double shipped three times already and the revolving art team has taken some negative feedback from reviewers and fans, for myself, i don't even want an omni/oversized hardcover of it at this point....though i'd probably still buy a Fantastic Four hickman omni collecting his run through the "Three" story arc.
Currently recommending: Daredevil, Mudman ( it's back!), Hawkguy, and FF. Can't miss!

People act like Marvel hasn't been double-shipping books like X-Factor and Thunderbolts for years. Why not look at how it worked for those books and THEN speculate wildly?

And that's the HC. Something like S.H.I.E.L.D. I may want in HC, but most other stuff -- be it DC or Marvel -- I'm fine with getting in TP.

pfff,I don't get why someone wouldn't like his favorite comic to come twice a month, in japan some comics come out WEEKLY. If anything, a lot of stuff like daredevil, avengers walking dead, action comics or uncanny x men should be officially a bi-weekly comics.

The economy goes into the crapper....lots of people are unemployed. Marvel says "Hey, let's raise prices!!!". Great business model.

Because no other business has raised their prices these past few years?

Market share is not the reason we do stuff like double shipping. Some fan have just made that up as a bogeyman to rally against.

However we do like to make more of the comics that the majority of people seem to want to buy. That is definitely part of the business plan.
