I want to like this. I will definitely give the first issue a long look, if there are any copies in my store. I already know I'll enjoy Steve Leiber's art. But....it's just that it's really, really hard for me to take a character with the poncy name "Dancy Flammarion" seriously.

I gotta agree with Xenos here.Tell me the character's name is actually Darcy not Dancy let alone Flammarion and what is this bad romance novel uber title Alabaster:Wolves blah, blah, all about? Sounds like Community College Creative Writing class gone wild.

Caitlin just likes fancy names, this is the same writer who has characters named Spyder Baxter, India, and Chance. I've only read a little of her work back around the time Silk came out but I found what I did read to be interesting, kind of Poppy Z. Brite like but with a bit more substance. Her characters also tend to be somewhat eccentric, so the non generic names she gives them just fit.

With that being said I may have to check out the comic or at the very least trade wait.

first issue was great. Good character development for people unfamiliar with Dancy, nice conflict, fresh take on a premise that has been beaten like a dead horse and the artwork was gritty, dark and detailed. Plus I like how they tell you what the team was listening to during the creation. Will definitely grab issue #2
