I think it's a year. And that year isn't quite up, iirc.

Accidental damage isn't officially covers but if it was because of some manufacturing defect, you should be good. In either case, nits worth an Apple store visit, if you've got one. Sometimes they take mercy on some poor, unfortunate souls.

If you have Applecare it's covered for two years and physical damage is covered (with another 50 dollar charge I believe).

If you have just the warranty and not some kind of extended protection plan, you're probably screwed unless you can somehow prove the glass cracking was somehow related to some manufacturing defect and not an accident on your part. Sorry. You're probably better off getting it fixed elsewhere, hopefully it won't cost too much.

Glad to see they (at Marvel) haven't completely abandoned that model.
Hey, are they the same freebies as the Comixology app?

On that topic, doesn't Comixology run Marvel's digital store and therefore anything bought through Marvel's store is basically being bought through Comixology and vice versa? Point being that if Comixology does go out of buisness at least everyone's purchased Marvel digital comics (regardless of which site you bought them through) would still be safe since the chances of Marvel and it's digital store going anywhere is pretty much nil.

Looks like the Nook may soon go from the worst comics tablet to the best (at least for the price)

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3207857.html

Its always been pretty comparable to the Kindle Fire except – whereas the Fire had a crippled version of Comixology – the Nook didn’t have it at all. Actually the Nook didn’t have a LOT of apps but it looks like that will change Friday. Plus, unlike the comparably-priced Nexus and Fire, it has expandable memory (though this is probably the first time anyone has had a REASON to put more space in a Nook).
New and improved me. Now with a CAPITAL “B”.

I 've been thinking about a tablet for comics but just couldn't justify the price of them. Got a $100 Amazon gift card that I've been holding on to until I found something I really wanted. Today I saw that they had certified refurbished Kindle Fires for $129.99, so I only paid $29.99 for it because I also got free shipping.

So, what is the best way to read cbr and cbz files on a Kindle Fire?

Its a good thing I never bought a Nook Color(but I came real close).

Unfortunately they are only adding Google Play to the HD tablets and not the reader (which I was gonna buy).
So its not that big of a deal Nook color owners are still screwed.

Of course for owners of the NookHD anything is better that the B&N app store. Seriously.
As bad as the Amazon Apps store is , its miles better than the B&N's App Store.

But then again, GETJAR is better than B&N's App Store.

I got my Kindle Fire yesterday and bought ComiCat for it. I was worried that the screen size wouldn't be large enough but it is perfectly adequate in the vertical full page mode. This tablet was a frigging bargain.

One thing in favor of Android is that Apple's policies can be limiting when it comes to certain kinds of content. It recently forced Comixology to pull a bunch of comics with sexual themes, like Omaha the Cat Dancer, from its iOS store. You can still buy them on the website and you can still sync them to and read them on your iDevice, but you can't browse for them in the store any more.

Flash is dead on mobile. Adobe has stopped developing it for Android.

There's nothing to sync, really. I just bought one of the banned comics on my iPad at their web site, which is a quick process (because I had done it before, so they had my credit card info). I immediately opened the ComiXology app, and the comic was listed as a purchased item. Just tap download to read.

In unrelated news, ComicBook!, an iOS app for turning your photos into a comicbook, is free today only. (The new free iPad app Halftone 2 looks better though.)

Yeah, the latest version seems to sync quickly and transparently. I remember it sometimes taking a little longer on earlier versions.
