They made that explicitly clear in the movie.

The movie is going to feature Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen alongside their younger versions.

Sounds good but I hope this isn't going to be the 'Prof X and Magneto' show - there are other X Men after all!

And I hope there will be other female characters apart from Mystique - she's starting to get boring.

Hmm...on the one hand I like it because Wolverine was integral to the original DoFP story in the books, on the other hand I'm afraid he might overshadow everyone else like he did in X 1-3.

Having said that, wouldn't it be cool if future Wolverine was actually Cable like in the Ultimate-verse? It'd be great on the one hand because then you could have Jackman playing two major X-characters. And just imagine an epic Wolverine versus Cable fight when they meet where it's younger Hugh Jackman versus older, more grizzled Hugh Jackman. Could be cool. On the other hand, however, that makes a Cable and the New Mutants / X-Force spin-off more difficult because you're dealing with the same actor for that as well as Wolverine spin-off movies and core X-men movies. But Jackman is a proven commodity in the Wolverine role, so I'm sure he'd be the same in the role of Cable. And an added bonus would be that he'd essentially look like Old Man Logan (especialy if they just ditch the cybernetic arm and glowing eye; just make it so that he's scarred up because he's older and his healing factor doesn't work nearly as well as it used to, which also explains why he uses a lot of other weapons in addition to the claws now).

Just my thoughts, but I could go either way on something like that.

I hope we get to see random mutants appearing in the background using their powers, like HUSK or Cannonball, mutants we haven't seen, kind of like what they did in X2 with the kids. But I have high hopes for this movie. It better not fail me.
