THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU, Mr. Slott. May your rule over this book be now neverending. Why do you think Morbius is such a good fit for Spidey's world? Is it because of the science gone wrong aspect of his origin?
Yeah! If you look at the JMS years of "Amazing" it's all animal totems, and the minute I got my hands on the characters I asked if we could put in the original top copy, "Bitten by a radioactive spider. In a science experiment..." All the guys I love playing with are mad scientists or characters that have been affected by science experiments -- because, to me, that's very much Spidey's world.

Aww, <sniff>, he had to bring it up. And just before All Souls' Day too. It's sad that we're in a world without Johnny Storm, and the next kind of brother-like figure Peter has, especially now with all his involvement with Jonathan [Hickman's] "FF," is Ben Grimm. That's why I'm rooting for Ben to get it on with being a big brother to Peter, since they're both also in the New Avengers. I'd like to see a team-up on Avenging.
So now that Anti-Venom is no more (forever?) what's Brock's next gig in Venom gonna be? And I wonder if Dan drew any inspiration for the monstrous Queen from this:

Kinda late but great insights and some foreshadowing stuff
your the man, Dan!!!
The whole time I was reading this interview I kept asking myself "Has this dude even READ the issue...?"
I didn't realize it was a delayed interview of sorts, talking about the prior issue and not the newest one. Made for a strange reading experience.
It's definitely a bit late, but always good to get Dan's insight anyway. Spider-Island was a lot of fun, and felt like it was over in a flash. I wish Marvel's main events (Fear Itself, for example), would read more like some of their smaller ones (Spider-Island, Dark Angel saga, etc.)
Morbius?
Well, I Just hope his recent activities are member of the Legion of Monster will not be ignored.
The character works very well as top cop of Monster Metropolis, the last thing he would need would to be regressed to his iconic status of tormented vampire.
But unlike some other writers, Dan Slott rarely ignores continuity, even recent continuity, so I'm 80% optimistic.

Marvel: Avengers Arena, lol!
Classy as always, Marvel.
I left a larger post in this regard over in Random Thoughts, but I couldn't pass up the chance to leave some accolades here.
Mr. Slott - thank you for finally penning a Spider-Man epic that:
a.) did not serve crass stupidities upon the reader
b.) unfolded in a way that was both surprising and made logical sense
c.) made Spidey feel heroic and not like just some underpowered punching bag who is good with one-liners
d.) and felt like a frickin' EVENT for a change.
That list doesn't seem like a whole lot when you read through it, but I honestly cannot remember a Spidey even that fulfilled all four before.
Spider Island left Fear Itself in the dust in my humble opinion.
In my mind, your place as an all-time great ASM writer is up there with Lee/ Ditko/Romita and Stern/JRjr (which, in my IMHO, are the only creators to have logged all time great runs on ASM).
THANK YOU MR. SLOTT! ! ! ! !
What struck me is when Slott mentioned that Peter has essentially compromised Horizon Labs security by installing his own roof access in order to get in and out as Spider-Man, reminding folks of the conversation Peter and Modell had in issue #649. That was something that didn't even occur to me but it also makes sense. Makes me wonder if Modell in issue #673 is going to ask Peter "I know you supply Spider-Man with gadgets but just how exactly DID he get into the facility and bypass all our security? What is it your not telling me?" Of course, Morbius has also done the same thing my making an access panel that lead directly into the sewers from his lab but it doesn't look like Modell is reprimanding him.

Hi Mr. Slott!
I only have one request for you. More Mary Jane. Bring back the romance between her and Peter. That was one of the magical parts of Spiderman many years ago. I know I'm old. I remember reading Gwen Stacy's death when it first came out. I know this sounds stupid but that one scene from the mid-seventies where Peter is hugging Mary Jane in downtown Manhattan has always stuck in my mind. He makes a comment about (I'm going by memory now) Aretha Franklin and MJ replies that his musical tastes are so old fashioned. If I remember right, she tells him something like "Face it Tiger, you've just hit the jackpot."
I suspect I'll still read Spiderman anyhow regardless but I wish you'd bring back more Mary Jane.
Best wishes.
