Haven't watched a single episode of this show is it better than the Green Lantern Movie? (In it's own context)

does it fare well and not look laughable when pitted alongside the other noteworthy animated series'

    Avengers: EMH (Arguably The Best)
Young Justice (Arguably The Best too)
    Thundercats
    Ultimate Spider-Man
Transformers Prime (also 3d and very engaing)

It is much much better than Green Lantern movie, it is very much a space-opera show and is similar to Star Trek in some ways. The plot is relatively simple but the strongest aspect of the show is the characterization, it is very much a Bruce Timm production. I would definitely put it up with the other shows you've mentioned (I would definitely consider it better than Ultimate Spider-Man, which I have heard has not gotten much praise).

I've been a disappointed in this series, perhaps in part because I've been enjoying Young Justice so much. To me, the characters seem more one-dimensional and less likeable than YJ. Also, I think the made-for-TV computer animation is inhibiting the amount of detail and wonder they can inject into the series. I feel like I'm watching simplistic, blocky action figures made for 5 year olds instead of a comic book come to life.

IMO, it's better than all those shows.

http://tvshowsondvd.com/n/16915. A release date for green lantern series already. But as always they have to split up the season.

The way I see it between YJ and GL:TAS. YJ has a better storyline and episodic pacing, but GL has better characters and a more morally grey setup (not the main characters, but everyone else). They both have good action scenes with YJ having better storyboarding but GL having more fluidic animation.

So far I've been enjoying this series the more I see of it and I've been pretty happy with how much the comics has been influencing the series. I also like that it has it's own set of original characters like Razor and the onboard ship computer that has a physical body.

However I do think they could expand the cast a bit more and introduce more Green Lanterns once they get this Red Lantern stuff done. I'd also like to see Hal do some stuff on earth because while I do enjoy the space adventures a lot I think he should have a bit of grounding as well by using the air force aspects of Hal's life, Carol, and some earth bound villains like Black Hand and Hector Hammond. Quite frankly I'm surprised the series has gone this far without using Sinestro but I suppose this can always be added later on but once the Red Lantern parts are done I definitely think there needs to be some refocusing.

GL is probably more comparable to shows like Star Trek and Firefly than traditional superhero shows.

It assumes the audience knows less about comics than YJ.

It's also a bit more subtle. It's not as obvious whether certain characters have ulterior motives or are trying to hide secrets from others. This is probably something that GL does better than YJ since it did get a bit annoying how a lot of YJ episodes ended with the villains twirling their mustaches and going, "that went exactly as we planned... Mwa ha ha ha ha."

The villain motivations are still unknown in YJ.

But we do know that their scheme is proceeding according to plans and will probably either be successfully implemented or be stopped at the very last minute by the heroes.

With the Red Lanterns, we don't know what their plan is, we don't know how well it's going, we don't know how they're reacting to intervention of the Green Lanterns, we don't know how much the Green Lanterns have hurt their plans, and we don't know if they'll be able to implement it.

Compare the Injustice League episode with the last GL episode. They make it obvious that the Injustice League was a distraction, their defeat wasn't a big deal and everything went according to the Conspiracy of Light's plan. With Ragnar, we don't know how important he was to the Red Lantern's plan, we don't know how much his defeat would hurt the Red Lanterns, and we have no idea how Atrocitus feels about Ragnar's failure.

I love this show, especially the space opera feel of it.

How many eps are confirmed for the 1st season?
Jean Grey : What makes you such a bitch, Emma?
Emma Frost : Breeding, darling. Top class breeding.

Season One is suppose to have 26 episodes.
First half deals with the Red Lanterns while the 2nd half is suppose to feature the Manhunters.

Last episode was very good especially the parts with the Guardians.

    Rest In Peace Ian.

Another great episode, classic Bruce Timm comedy. Love the Thanagarians appearances and the con-man leader. Razer and Aya were cute together as well.
