Depends. 100 Bullets is a crime/noir series, as opposed to superhero (WW & Flashpoint: Batman) or sci-fi (Spaceman). If you like reading stories in that genre, then yes, I would highly recommend 100 Bullets. It's one of my favorite Vertigo books.

Just skimmed this thread but I'm thoroughly enjoying this comic and it's great to see Risso and Azzarello again (I wish it was more than nine issues though )

The difference in language adds a nice touch and realism to it, the art by Risso captures every visceral moment perfectly and the overall tone and direction this book is heading to is very dark and fresh.

Definitely can't wait to this noir/sci-fi slowly unwind.

It might end up being more than nine issues, I think there was a rumor that nine was just the first season so to speak and more may come.

I heard that too. Not sure if it's a rumour though. I thought Azzarello said it in an interview, but can't find it anymore. Time will tell. First this run has to sell enough before we can expect a second volume.

Thosse "flashes of Space" are too specific to be made up memories. I have no doubt that they went into space.

Orson is not reliable, its obvious he is suffering amnesia, when he gets bonked in the head, he has the flashes.

Eh, it was the kidnapper who revealed that Orson had been orphaned as a kid, which would seem to contradict the visions of the space mission.

This is one book where I think going digital is a disservice. There's something about the paper used that adds a tactile fourth dimension that enhances the book. It has a feel and a scent that is right at home with the world being built in the pages.

To be honest, I find that about all the comics I read...

As for Spaceman, two issues in and I still have no idea what I think about it. I'm not loving it by any means but I am certainly intrigued to see where it goes.

Hm, I don't think the pacing in this issue was as good as it was in the first two issues. It was the first issue that didn't really build on the on going mystery, well except for the end when we got to see how one of Orson' brothers turned out, but other than that it was kind of flat.

I'm still really enjoying where this is going but this issue just didn't stand up on its own for me like the others did.

Wasn't sold until reading the first three issues together. It was hard to imagine the voices and actually understand the sad state of language the future holds in Spaceman. However that's what makes the writing great. It is sad, scary, funny and just maybe not that far from the truth ( the speech set). It really touches in around about way how technology and so called entertainment, poor education, etc are dumbing down a nation. I couldn't help but laugh at the male cop in issue three who was looking at the crime scene as if he was in one of those horrible prime time cop shows " the silence is messing me up". The writting is well done and the story is intersting and the art is great. Pick this one up.

I thought the 3rd issue was great, and a worthy continuation of the series. I also re-read the 2nd issue before reading the 3rd, and this story really works a lot better stacked together. Every detail seems to be important.

Those having a hard time reading the issues should try putting on a Jamaican accent. As to whether or not they are Jamaican, is of no consequence, but it seriously reads like he's trying to get their speech down. Like writing a southerner, "I was gonna' git Ma some corn butta' never thought it'd be so dang far".

I thought I had some how missed the 4th issue but I just read it comes out on the 29th. I definitely need to reread the first three, it feels like forever since the last issue came out.

I loved the blurb about it on the DC website, "Don't miss the series that H.G. Wells calls 'the comic I wish I was alive to read!'"

Yeah, they skipped a month for some reason. I had the exact same thought, I was sure I missed an issue.
