One thing that really REALLY annoyed me about that show was that after going through the Secret Wars and the Spider Carnage you were going to find out what happened to Mary Jane. But the next episode always goes back to the first one with Lizard. Its such a let down since they intended the show to go for longer. To this day I wonder what happened to Mary Jane or if the Green goblin would ever return.

The show was cancelled. There was no closure to that. The plan was to have Spider-Man go back through time to Victorian age where an MJ had amnesia and Carnage was Jack the Ripper. I kid you not, it was going to be that awesome.

I always figured it had something to do with the fact that, in his early comic appearances (especially around "Maximum Carnage"), he was always made to display all the worst stereotypes of a "heavy metal fan." Annoys me to this day.
I had a letter printed once in Amazing Spider-Man #604!

Before Marvel NOW!, my pull list was 14 Marvel books. Now, it's more like 5 Marvel, 7 DC, and a few indies.

Man, the show was cancelled, that's the reason there is not conclusion to the Mary Jane Arc.

So I watched the S3 finale, "Turning Point" and I'm starting to wonder; was the "death" of Mary Jane and Normal Osborn, a direct result of Peter's otherwise extreme actions to keep his identity a secret or refusal to listen to Madame Web's advice? I realize the guy would blame himself for the flu if he could, but Web's words at the end episode really got me wondering.

Also, what are one's opinions of Madame Web and how she was utilized in the show? At first, I loathed the character (which might stem from the fact that she's all too reminiscent of the parent who "knows best" despite your arguments otherwise); I can't say I'm even a fan now, but Joan Lee's acting and the fact that she tends to knock Spider-Man out of his state of self-absorption tends to get me to pull away from the resentment I had for the character as a kid. I could live without her, though.

Pretty much. They made metal out to be something way bigger than it is.

Possibly. But just look at the fifth season of the X-Men; the quality declined big time. Better to end things on a high note.

The Insidious Six instead of The Sinister Six.
But horrid is Electro is the son of the Red Skull.
Ghost Rider was going to make a appearnce but couldn't because he was used on Fantastic Four and The Incredible Hulk that were not on Fox Kids.

Personally, my favorite episode/arc was the Alien Suit trilogy. Venom was just so well done in the show IMO. At least until his team up with Carnage in S3.

I think that was the case because the fifth season of X-Men seemed to have no actual continuity... instead it was just a bunch of stories that they wanted to tell and didn't; so instead of a progressing season like the others you had a season full of stories that happened here and there through-out the first four seasons.

Edited to add: My favourite Spider-Man episodes was the Venom saga, the Secret Warriors (forget if that was their name) and the Secret Wars. Probably others but it's been a while and I can't really remember off hand.

    ...

I'm going to start watching them on Netflix

Ugh, Madame Webb was that cartoon version of USM Nick Fury, except she's more annoying and treats a smart guy as a clueless rookie

    Here's a question that I must ask.

Mary Jane Watson's aunt Anna; her hating/disliking Peter; bad idea, or bad execution?

    Both
She just doesn't trust him, no good reason behind her mistrust, if any

Anna Watson was so one dimensional on this show. Her entire purpose was just to berate Peter. She even bought into the idea that he was a US traitor. I think she even hired the Punisher to stalk and terrorize him.

^She did and worst of all, the Punisher didn't even question it. He was so anxious to go out and "punish" someone he took the speculation of a bitter old woman as proof that there was something fishy about Peter Parker and his supposed connection to the disappearance of Mary Jane (she practically labeled "murderer" on him without ever saying it). Basically, all Anna Watson served was the "human antagonist" who had nothing better to do but nag on her niece's boyfriend for being a flake (something MJ took better than she did), though one could say all of this stems from the fact that her daughter married an presumably flaky and verbally abusive husband.

It's funny they didn't make Punisher deduct Peter is Spider-Man
If Bendis wrote that story, it would've been done
