I'm very sorry to be so late, Katherine.
    The weather is terrible.

This popped up in my inbox and ruined the splash-page reveal, so thanks a bunch for that.

Otherwise, this is the most exciting comic on the stands right now... The book is playing for keeps and I can't imagine anyone else writing or drawing this; yeah, even Guy. James Harren is the most exciting addition to the series since Guy and John signed on. I love his work.

Completely agree. Although, I have to add Duncan to that list :)

A look at the inks from issue 2 (major spoilers if you haven't read it yet... in which case why are you reading this thread?). It's in French, so if you speak the language you'll get more out of it.

Some of us aren't as fussed about spoilers as you, I guess. Great link, by the way. I'm looking forward to picking up #2 tomorrow.

As much as I loved him, between the artwork here and Tyler Crook, I don't miss Guy.

I still miss him, I probably always will, but the art they've got on the series now is pretty impressive. James Harren and Tyler Crook are fantastic.

I really want to see him be the artist on an Abe Sapien when he goes off on his own as Mignola has hinted at.

Totally agree- Harren's art is a perfect match for this story's exceptionaly dark atmosphere.

I have a crazy idea that Johann will get trapped as the Wendigo, which would be terrible, as I have loved his development from this always-upbet guy into something much darker, but more compelling.
His sorta stepping away from the abyss of revenge this issue gave me hope...and then it was 'But you must DIE!" and I mentally said "Yep, he's screwed".

I'd really like to hear Diamo's rationalizations for not killing himself- he certainly seemed capable of doing whatever it takes when he was the bureau...why not now?
Maybe the thing inside of him wont allow it...

I also wonder if the dagger might be capable of killing other supernatural creatures? A weapon capable of hurting the usually non-coporeal Jahad family of horror would be useful right about now, with Liz gone.

You know what I want to see? Harren as the artist on that upcoming Sir Edward and Roger series that I just made up but still want to read.

I've been wondering what Johann's fate will be at the end of this series since it started. I'm a little nervous for him, but the three way struggle here has me scratching my head. Whatever happens, it's gonna change things forever with this title and these characters.

I like the theory of the beast inside Daimio not allowing him to kill it.

And I would definitely be happy to read a Sir Edward and Roger story. The one where they cross paths with Hellboy in the underworld, or the other one? ;)

I agree with Johann. Daimio must die! His werejaguar is getting out of hand with the killing.

Hey now, who here has not occasionally turned into an unspeakable horror and slaughtered whomever stands in our way?
Hell, if my W2 does not show soon, I'll be linking in the frozen wastes right alongside poor Ben.

And speaking of Ben, I was re-re-re reading Garden of Souls last night and the exchange in Ben's vision between him and his mom's creepy kabuki-masked monkey left a lot of unanswered questions- Ben says something like "Who are we?!?" and it replies "Theres you right, and then there's me, and then there's...well, you know."

This seems to imply that the monkey thing is seperate from the Lepoard God monster thing in Ben....and the kabuki monkey thing is still active in some sense.

Where is that monkey in a jar now anyway? Imagine being the clean up crew that had to go into Ben's quarters after all that went down...
