Absolutely nuts! So glad we're gonna see Daimo again it seems, though admittedly I was a bit sad that we only got a panel glimpse of Abe again. I wanna know what's going on! *shakes fist*

That panel was great though, he looks even more monstrous than ever.

I am in total agreement with everyone that James Harren's art on this book is AMAZING. I can't wait for the next issue. This issue can only be described in one word... BRUTAL. Damn it was good.

I think it is about time we found out what Panya and her little hybrids are up to...

Agent Giarocco is included in Liz's glimpse of the future.

Maybe that wasn't "Agent" Giarocco... maybe that was her kid. Who followed in his mom's footsteps after her tragic death.

    (Kidding... Kind of.)

PS This issue was ridiculously amazing. I love to hate Johann.

I love how they've developed Johann's character since Killing Grounds. He went from being goofy and kinda selfish to being a manipulative jerk who is willing to kill to get his way. And I love it.

Had to draw Johann's new costume. Love this series, James is such a kinetic and interesting artist.

James Harren was nice enough to post this on his DeviantArt. Click the image for a closer look.

For those fans of James Harren, you'll be happy to know he's back for not one, but two Mignolaverse projects after The Long Death. C'mon, this is awesome news.

Nice. Sounds like he may be around for the long haul. Great news indeed! Would love to see what he would do with a Hellboy story.

BPRD hasn't been this good since KOF... maybe even the Warning. the art, the story, the characters... BPRD is once again the best book out there. Don't even try to dispute it.

his work on TDDNJ was pretty good, but what he brought to The Long Death was a whole different animal... I mean, HOLY $#!+

I'm inclined to agree with you, Mechano. I liked seeing Abe and Ben team up in "New World," but all the other story elements in that arc and the stories in "Gods & Monsters" didn't do much for me. "Russia" had a great story, but I really felt the absence of Guy Davis in the art. Tyler Crook's a fine artist, but his work sometimes looks like a diluted Davis, and if you're going to switch ongoing artists, why not go for something different and distinct?

James Harren has that different and distinct flavor BPRD needed after Guy Davis' run ended. Between "The Long Death" and "The Burning Hand," the Mignola line is in a very good place right now.

I definitely feel like I should take the opposite stance, Jackson--I don't feel like Crook's style is at all a dilution of Davis's. Though both simplify the human form/face, honestly that's the only similarity I can see. Crook's lines definitely have a flavor all their own. But at the same time, the spirit of the art remains the same (probably due to Dave Stewart's phenomenal coloring).

It is new art for a new world, but it hasn't quite left the old one behind. I feel like if it had been radically different from what came before, that would have been pretty jarring to see.

That said, I'm blown away by everybody's art these days, so I'm excited to see how each arc plays out!
