Be warned right now, this thread will be discussing the miniseries following the events of Russia and will contain major spoilers. Thought I'd start this thread up for anyone that wanted to talk about the recent article CBR posted

I haven't read any spoilers, but that title sounds awesome. I love the noirish sound it has, it immediately conjures up images from the Long Goodbye and just Bogart in general. I have no idea what the story will be like but with a title like that color me intrigued.
I love this bit from Duncan Fegredo - "I've been a fan of the book since the beginning and I still am. Tyler is doing a terrific job stepping into the rather large and daunting shoes that belonged to Guy Davis for so long, a situation I can vividly relate to!"
Recent Nature Sightings:
Sept 24: Two Orcas close to shore.
Nov 14: Trumpeter Swans, Bald Eagles catching salmon (and a duck!), Harbour Seals, Steller Sea Lions, Kingfisher.
So is Tyler Crook done with BPRD? I just read in the Hellmail section of The Devil Does Not Jest #2 that James Harren is doing the Long Death.
I didn't read the article, but is this change addressed?
I loved his work in The Devil Does Not Jest so it's not a big disappointment or anything I was just looking forward to seeing more from Tyler Crook.
No way - I mean I wouldn't think so - since mr. Tyler was presented as being the mainstaying artist for the BPRD-ongoing, where any other artists wouldn't be?
I guess there's not gonna be any change in that, although there'll be a lot of stuff going on beyond the ongoing stuff I'd imagine.
Chillingly good stuff besides Mignola, Slint, M, Knut and really big chunks of tinfoil?Been called a 'good egg'. Been told to rock, been told to steady myself. Been told to (please) be goin' places.
Half sunk in the mud, with one eye showing / a cracked smile and hair still growing /
your hands miles apart, as if they'd never met / you were the happiest I'd seen you yet. ~ (full) lyrics to 'Exhume' by Bedhead.
I guess James Harren sort of makes sense if The Long Death is Abe centric as suggested above as Harren really knocked the Devil Does Not Jest out of the park, but I really wanted to see Tyler's take on Abe as well.
This could all be for naught though as I haven't read the article just the blurb in hellmail.
This could be a good thing, James Harren returning for yet another Abe Sapien story. We know from now on the Abe Sapien series is going to be running parallel to the ongoing BPRD Hell on Earth plot, so maybe this mini is the branching point. Tyler Crook will be the ongoing artist on BPRD Hell on Earth and James Harren could be the ongoing artist for Abe Sapien. If that's the case this is very good news indeed.
Well It may have more to do with Johan from the announcement on CBR. Its possible it could be a short miniseries while Tyler Crook is working on the next miniseries, so I'm guessing it's a short mini.

Possibly. We really don't know. As far as I can see, Russia will change Johann, but I don't see anything in that article that connects Johann's state to the title "The Long Death". Considering Russia is very Johann centric, I think The Long Death will focus on a different character, even if the first issue is picking up on some of the dangling plot threads from Russia. The point is we really don't know, and that's a good thing.

When I read that, I was pretty shocked. I actually thought for a moment that they'd done the same thing that happened to Josh Dysart, the way he was was covertly bumped off the books. But it's OK. In Russia #2's Hellmail Scott Allie says, "James (Harren) will be doing a few guest issues of B.P.R.D. early next year..." So, it's only a guest thing.
I still hope James Harren becomes the ongoing artist on Abe Sapien. That would be so awesome.
UPDATE:
From Scott Allie's Twitter:
Tyler Crook is the only full time BPRD artist, but others are joining in.

I was shocked as well but once I connected James Harren to the Devil Does not Jest I was less shocked. Were of the same mind as to the ongoing Abe series, I said as much in the DDJ thread but the mini really felt like the opening of an on going story as it not only made Abe a really strong central character but it also established a great supporting cast.
Mike Mignola has added a note about the CBR article on his Facebook:In addition, Guy Davis will be posting his sketches on Twitter later this week. Please note... About the new Johann suit―Unfortunately there is a glaring inaccuracy in the above article―The design of the new suit didn't start with me but with several sketches by Guy Davis. I did a sketch that I think combined a couple of different elements from Guy's sketches. Unfortunately whoever wrote this article leapt to a conclusion based on seeing my sketch and didn't check with me to get the whole story.
As far as I know, it had to do with Mike Mignola going back to drawing Hellboy again. But I honestly have no idea. It has never really been spoken about.
