You'd think this would be a big talked-about thread here at CBR...

But I guess no-one has anything to say?

Props to Marvel for even thinking of having this panel! The mainstream comics industry isn't perfect, but to have a panel like this shows that Marvel is willing to look at these issues while their Distinguished Competition fumbles the ball left and right. I'd love to see more panels like this from other companies, or to see a panel that includes women from all the major publishers to priovide an ever more diverse view of what's going on.

They usually have it every Comic Con panel.
I guess that's what keeps the crazy feminists that bother DC away from Marvel...

    Blame DeConnick.
I know Kevin Nichols through a guy that knows a gal. Small world!

I was thinking the same exact thing.

Anyway, this is a good look on Marvel's part.

Aren't there only, like, five women working in comics?
New Avengers, Morbius The Living Vampire, Scarlet Spider, Iron Man, Fearless Defenders, Fantastic Four, Deadpool Killogy, Savage Wolverine, Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men & X-Force, Cable & X-Force, Gambit

I think it's just that DC has more female fans.

Newsarama posted an article on this a while back; it's sort of old news. I know I've already talked about the panel with my crazy feminist circle ;) DeConnick should always be on this panel, basically, the discussion seemed more interesting this time around than at previous conventions.

It would be nice for these creators (and the characters they talked about) to have a presence at ComicCon outside of the woman panel.

I just got a crazy idea. Do you think it would be worthwhile for Marvel to introdue a Women's line of comics that is largely female-centric? Not that the intent of it is to just cater to female audiences or keep them seperate from the main lines, but a line that highlights all the lovely female characters doing, well, female things?

I know I could probably sound sexist, and maybe it is to some degree. But, I'm a male, sue me.
