Heh, nah I just was on too many forums simultaneously and had a brain fart.

    Hadn't thought of that.

I got my issue #1 in the mail today so I was able to read #1 and #2 right in a row. It is a really fun series. The art reminds me at times of the anatomical horrendousness that Burnham pulls off but then you get really fun expressiveness and background detail similar to Guillory in Chew.

Speaking of background detail, here's some of the nerdy goodness I caught in Luther's room (posters and comics):

    100 bullets
    Invincible
    Doom
    Xmen
    We3
    Iron Giant
    Absolute Superman
    The Thing
    Akira
    DBZ

There were a couple I missed or didn't recognize right away but that was really fun to see all the nerdy detail in the art (including the sweet rebel logo and NIN shirts that make appearances).

Totally lived up to the praise you all were giving it and it's on my pull now.
PULL: Chew, Walking Dead, Saga, Locke & Key, Batman, Batman Inc, Bedlam, Hellboy in Hell, Luther Strode, Jupiter's Legacy, East of West

This book is kickin' ass and takin' names. I love it. And I'm always a sucker for a main character who has a good taste in comics, did you see his wall peppered with comic posters?

I talk how much I love the book in our last episode, check it:

This book has been a lot of fun both to read and to look at, both issues have kicked ass and can't wait to see where it goes from here.

I wonder if the "strange talent" of Luther is actually being able to resist the training to become a senseless killing machine and use the powers he's gaining for good. That sounds too plain to be it, because so far this seems to be so smartly written, but we'll see.

Issue 3 came out today! Man, I am loving this comic. I don't remember the last time a comic got me this into it with only 3 issues. Quickly climbing up my personal lists of favorites. Some quick thoughts on issue 3:

    spoilers:
    - Really starting to enjoy the supporting cast. Been loving Petra the whole time and his stereotypically nerdy friend/sidekick really grew on me this issue.
    - His costume is bizarre. I kinda like that it makes him look a bit like a villain. I wonder where his friend got that weird bandage mask.
    - I wonder if he actually has superpowers or if he's just like a peak physical human? I wonder if we're going to get an explanation for the powers. Is it really the training regime? Something supernatural? Something genetic? I'm not sure I even need an explanation but I'm curious.
    - Noticed that his eyes were glowing red in a couple of panels. Not sure if that is new (and a sign of bad things to come) or if I just missed it before.
    - Looks like Petra has an abusive guy in her life. I'm sure Luther isn't going to like that as it seems to be his personal anger issue. I'm sure that's going to lead to some kind of intense confrontation.
    - Can't wait to see what happens between Luther and the bad guy next issue.
    end of spoilers

So much awesome in this book!!

    # 3 was pretty great. I'm interested in seeing what happens with Petra. The coloring continues to be the best thing about it.

Still a mini but Justin Jordan said that he has plans for a 2nd mini if this one continues to do well.
