Most excited about Aaron's stuff.
New Avengers, Morbius The Living Vampire, Scarlet Spider, Iron Man, Fearless Defenders, Fantastic Four, Deadpool Killogy, Savage Wolverine, Wolverine, Uncanny X-Men & X-Force, Cable & X-Force, Gambit
Can't wait for Aaron's run. And does Lee Weeks draw a great Hulk or what? Those covers are stunning.
My main issue with Hulk books is that I feel they often go to the same types of tension and conflict to tell their stories.
The idea that Bruce and Betty could never be interesting together, or that a relaxed Bruce couldn't be interesting, doesn't make sense to me. There are plenty of opportunities for drama with couples, and with characters who are trying to chill (hi Daredevil).
Check out the O.A.W. Report at www.majinoaw.blogspot.com. You want to see why I say the things I do or understand what's in my head... this is the place to go.
Agreed - Bruce's physical/mental makeup was supposed to make his response as unique as Cap's was to the Super Soldier serum.
This Gamma franchising is not appealing to me
Gamma mutation reflects how a creature see itself, however the Ross's mutations and the Intel's Gamma powered soldiers used Hulk and She Hulks mutations as templates, and Steve and the Hulk had predecessors in Protocide and the Leader respectively. And seeing how none of the other Gamma mutates except maybe Samson and Madman all don't have similar personality issues what makes the Hulk unique is not in danger since he's been in dire need of some new antagonists for a while

Digging the Hulk Smash: The Avengers concept. Reminds me of the Spider-Man/Human Torch mini, exploring the different eras. And we get Sal Buscema back on the Hulk (even if only for one issue and as an inker...)
you've made a valid point. but couldn't it be said that the Bruce's transformation into the Hulk influenced the others? Thunderbolt Ross has been obsessed with capturing the Hulk. he's probably never gone to sleep w/o dreaming of the creature. maybe having it in his mind influenced his appearance. Leader still retained his individuality (as did Samson). but don't ask me to defend A-Bomb.
'I know we say this a lot, but it is literally going to change the face of the Marvel Universe'. Yep, you're right, you do say it a lot. A LOT. & you know what, it doesn't. Never in any meaningful, long-term. fundamental way. It's just meaningless hype. & this will be too.
No wonder I don't buy the over-hyped 'event' comics with 400 tie-ins. I finally woke up to myself & instead of buying comics out of loyalty - I buy comics I actually look forward to & enjoy reading. That means no Avengers (after many, many years), no Spiderman, no FF (which has become so convoluted as to be impossible for the casual reader to understand - & you bitch about DC & their mess!!), no Iron Man or Thor (actually nothing by Fraction. the guy can write, but his pacing is so slow the comics are a chore to read, so I no longer bother).
In the end, I don't listen to hype about 'game-changing' etc.. because it either doesn't happen. doesn't last long or is basically untrue. I used to buy 30+ Marvel a month. I now buy 8. Marvel, you do the maths. I'm not alone.
He had Emil's DNA as a templatebut don't ask me to defend A-Bomb
