I did not like the "Grounded" storyline, but I really liked these covers.

Because that's what Lois Lane called him when she saw him. Was he gonna go over to her and say "um ms sorry but I'm only 21 so maybe you should hold off on calling me that till I'm 30"? No, no he wasn't because that's not what was important. He didn't even have a name till then and he most likely wouldn't have thought twice if things had stayed like that but Lois called him Superman and it stuck. A 21 year old MAN is considered a MAN and with out the person telling you they were 21 you would have no idea. You'd just think they looked good or were in there early 20's.
Also if you ask me I think that he looks like a man who looks like he's go the situation under control and is't that what people in the position of being saved would want from the one saving them. A big friendly smile to somehow look nonthreatening while holding up a TRUCK. I know I don't want my guy all flustered like he can't hold the thing up and it's gonna drop and kill us all.
just sayin
How do you guys feel about the Man of Steel costume?
I don't like it. Looks like a wetsuit to me. And man, oh man does he need those trunks.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
I think if anything, time to get used to the new suit in the comics has shown me just how unimportant the trunks are, not how much they're needed.
Something seems to be missing from the MOS suit though, but I don't know what plans they might have in post-production in regards to how it'll actually appear on-screen so I'll wait and see. But its nothing that can only be cured by trunks.
I just think a certain bulge is more visible without the trunks.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
Its not the bulge that's more visible, its the general area altogether because your eyes are simply drawn to the area of change. If they kept the trunks and made his boots blue, everyone's eyes would be focused on his feet, and so on. And that's something that will simply fade with time. There's nothing inherent about the lack of trunks though that magically make the junk pop out.
