pickens #2 and long death cover #3
I'm very sorry to be so late, Katherine.
The weather is terrible.
Here's Cloonan's take on HB from my sketchbook from a couple years back
Added this to my pull list today. Covers are too nice not to.
Strangebeard: It's not the size of the pirate in the fight, but the size of the fight in the pirate.
Jason Latour updated his blog:
Yesterday I put what I hope to be the final nail in the coffin on BPRD: THE PICKENS COUNTY HORROR. Keeping a sharp stake ready just in case...
It was a real dream to get to play in Mignola's sandbox and to work with such talented people as he, Scott Allie & Dave Stewart. I'm eternally grateful. If you're interested the first issue is in the new Order code: JAN120072 , or you can just ask your retailer to order it.
More soon..
I gotta say, I love seeing these little teasing images way more than seeing a final page. It gets me much more excited about the story.
Here's an interesting interview with Jason Latour.
Here's an interview with Scott Allie about The Pickens County Horror.
I like this in particular:
Dark Horse Comics: Mike Mignola is incredible at dropping a bit of information in early issues and following up with full narratives involving those hints and future references. How far do you and he work to plan those out?
Scott Allie: Well, with Arcudi, there are things we've been slowly building to for eight years, and there are things we're working on now, and putting out now, the full extent of which you won't see for another four years in some cases. Mike can't help but think of his stories in a really complex rolling timeline—we might be in the middle of talking through one of these Hell on Earth stories, and he's figuring out new things about what Lobster Johnson was doing in the thirties and who'll be doing what when the world ends. John and I often talk about the weird ways in which Mignola’s mind works, plotting multiple stories literally at the same time. Neither one of us can keep up sometimes.
...It's gonna be a fun four years.![]()
