Remender explained. "Now they're operating with a no kill rule...
Sold! Sounds like this may actually be closer to the core Avengers book that I really want than the actual three core Avengers books.

Not sure I like his Capt. Britain vs. Hawkeye thoughts quite as much, though. Not sure if I'm just misreading his thoughts on Hawkeye a bit there, though, so I'm going to just hope for the best in that regard. Hawkeye doesn't care about clean and shiny in that he's willing to cheat and even break rules a la with the TBolts, but I think he holds heroic ideals pretty highly, far more than we've seen over the last decade.

I do hope it's not too closely linked to X-Force, as I've got no interest in reading that book. I do appreciate Remender decided not every character has to have claws and/or the same powers anymore *rolls eyes* but still not what I'm interested in.

Be interesting with the Descendents how the Avengers approach fighting them. Usually robots mean the heroes can go to town, but I wonder if their sentience will stymie them. It did of course back in the day of the Supreme Intelligence, not to mention they wouldn't just kill Jocasta or Vision (though he wasn't actually a robot).

In the first picture, anyone know who the woman on the bottom right, coming out of the card, is? Is that supposed to be Natasha? Someone else we might recognize?

Hardman is ok, but I was hoping for a better artist on this title.

Maybe it's a weirdly drawn Beast.

In recent years, Beast has pretty much look different for every artist drawing him.

Made me tought about Sam Kieth' SCRATCH actually.

    Remender + Hardman..now I'm interested.
I'm surprised to see more about the Cap Britain Corps in a SA book, but for what I remember Brian Braddock was on the Avengers' editors radar for a little while. That's okay for me because I take my MU interconnected. Plus : Jamie Braddock' return, Adaptoids and New Masters Of Evil ?

    SOLD.

Because of the sucess of Green Lantern, I was honestly expecting the Captain Britian Corps to return at some point.

Everything about this book screams must buy. Rememder = Yes, Hardman = Yes, Hawkeye (leading the team no less) = Yes. This might be my favorite book of the new year.

Remender actually holding classic Hawkeye's no kill rule in high regard means this IS the core Avengers book imo. It's about time a capable writer got his hands on him in a team setting.

Did Jack of Hearts have a daughter or something? That was my guess.

I'm going to answer it anyway.

Looking at my sig, Jim Lee's Justice League was lovely. Aaron Lopresti on JLI is gorgeous. Greg Capullo on Batman is phenomenal. Mahmud Asrar on Supergirl is stunning.

On the Marvel side, Carlos Pacheco, Stefano Caselli, Humberto Ramos, Jim Cheung, Olivier Coipel, Rafa Sandoval, Mike Deodato, Paco Medina, and Stuart Immonen are all favorites. Among many others! Mark Bagley is good when he's teamed with a good inker. Ryan Stegman is going to be huge. And I'm looking forward to Marc Silvestri returning to Marvel, on Hulk. A Silvestri Secret Avengers would be amazing!

Hardman is ok, but his art just doesn't pop for me. He was solid on Hulk, but far from exciting, IMO. And his females usually look bland.

Guess I missed the news that the Ellis run was going to be so short. Kind of disappointed about that.

I think that was kind of a given... Ellis never really sticks around. And his arc did seem sort of like filler.

Fun filler... don't get me wrong. I'm liking the format a lot. But it sort of screamed temporary.

I'm tempted to e-mail my LCS and ask them to pull this now. Hardman? Remender? Secret Avengers? Captain Britain? If they just tell me they're putting the blatantly not dead bucky barnes on the book, then I will explode.

Screams "rereadable pop" to me more than "filler." You can't have a holding pattern on standalone stories. That's like calling Batman: Year One or The Executioner Wore Stiletto Heels, or any issue of Global Frequency "filler."

In the end, if this is just a collection of short stories, it's still a collection of short stories that are good on their own. At least, the two we've seen so far stand up that way.
