Actually, that is a good idea. Desmond-esque missions were fun and it would interesting to see it applied to Peter, if done well.

One thing i will give EoT credit is that the gameplay did feel fun when there were near limitless waves of enemy. The music and the oncoming enemies made everything feel that more desperate and it enhanced the gameplay.

It's out of character for me. I'd rather have some cinematic finishing move (perhaps something like the Special attacks in EoT that use your stamina up) instead of a heavy attack, preferably without creating weapons out of webs.

I wonder why it's been so hard to create the ultimate Spidey game?

To make a ground breaking spiderman game, combine batman arkham series graphic elements with devil may cry over the top combat.

I mean make it like a Arkham series lite in instead of dark and gloomy more colorful and epic.

And maybe add some puzzle to the game.

    I like it a lot!

I hope the in-game swinging mechanics are that intense.

Things I would like to have in this game.

    1. No annoying civilians. Or better done and believable civilians.
Why is it that civies in Spidey games all act weird? Their lines are delivered in such a comic book way (Oh Spidey, you're my number one!).
Surprisingly, I actually liked saving people in Arkham series. Every one I save deliver their lines in such a realistic and believable way. And the dialogue isn't: "Holy cow Batman, thanks a bunch for saving me."

    2. Better combat.
I think it's time for Spider Man to move on from X= Light Attacks and Y= Heavy attacks and do more of a Arkham style. have X be your primary attack button (which Web of Shadows actually did) and Y as your counter. It not only frees up one more button for anything else (no heavy attack and block/counter is moved there instead) but it also stops that ridiculous Webbed-weapons from being made.

    3. A Good Story.
This is a movie tie in game right?... yeah, i'll just be wasting my breath. I mean, what other villains can you create that will follow the Movie-universes' style? How will Mysterio look if we have yet to see him? Will Scorpion have a suit or...? Will Electro be more like Ultimate Electro or Cole from inFamous?
Other than that, the main plot will be about the Lizard... and yet the trailer shows a big ass spider slayer because... the Lizard isn't as important (???)
Been playing Arkham City, and dude, I wanted a Spider-Man game like this one a while before the release of Shattered Dimensions, that means I have good ideas for a Spidey video game with no tie-in to movies . BAC is the best superhero game, easy, finally another game with terrific boss fights (Spider-Man 3 did it first)

About point No. 3: Spider-Man 2 has the best story of movie tie-ins and open world games so far, it's good, it flows freely, good insertion of other villains, and it doesn't have goof ups like USM game has with Rhino getting stuck in soft concrete. Even with that I would still excuse a movie game if it delivers a flawed story with need of patching, but delivers interesting gameplay like Spider-Man 3 The Game (second best comic book game, and I rank it as such for real good reasons) did (even if the last scene with killing Venom (ONLY) was out of character)

I want a Spider-Man game with no movie tie-ins, delivering a great story with entertaining and varied gameplay

I want a spider-man game that has the following

1.A storyline like Spider-man on the PS1. Have all the villains working together.

2.The story written by a writer of the comic, like Ultimate Spider-man was. If it was up to me, Dan slott is the man for the job!

3.Have the missions play out like they do in Spider-man 3 The Game, giving you the choice of what order you would like to play them in.

4.Web-swinging like in Spider-man 2 mixed with the air tricks from Web of shadows.

5.Web of Shadows's combat system, only improved on.

6.The visual style of Amazing Spider-man in Shattered. My god, that character model is perfect.

7.Spider-man 3 and Web Of Shadows's city combined. Realtisc looking city with Marvel landmarks such as Baxter Building.

8.DOC OCK OR GREEN GOBLIN AS THE BIG BADDIE!!!

    9. Boss fights where you have to think about what you're doing.
    For example
Rhino fight - Use your speed
Venom fight - Use your enviroment to make sounds

    10. Unlockable costumes/Suit gets damaged from fights.

Really if videogame makers had of taken what they learnt from each Spider-man game over the years, well let's just say if it was done right, Arkham city wouldn't be known as the best Superhero game.

To be honest, PS1 Spider-Man didn't have a good story. And the whole "as many villains as possible" approach is not good for a story. Even Arkham City's story suffered from that. I think something more like Edge of Time's approach to story would work, just with a bigger scope.

I'm not saying as many villains as possible, I'm saying a story where all the villains serve a purpose to the story. Have a sinster 6 team up or something. At least the classic villains.

I found Arkham City's story to be great, even if it lacked a main focus.

Haven't played Edge of time due to not liking what I've seen of it.

Yeah, the game itself is not good, but the story and writing in it are the best in a Spidey game yet.
