Classic Button Mashing (i.e. Shattered Dimensions)
Button Mashing mixed with Countering (i.e. Arkham)
Dunno about the quality of Shattered Dimensions or Edge Of Time, have just seen videos of them so far.
Shattered Dimensions looked cool, due the variety of graphics and gameplay because of the diferent dimensions. And being writen by Dan Slott i hope that the story will keep the quality of the comics.
Will be getting the Shattered Dimensions game eventually.
Edge of Time looks all right in terms of graphics and the story being writen by Peter David is cool as well.
But will be getting Shattered Dimensions first.
And graphics wise the Amazing Spider-Man Movie Game looks great.
But then again this is a movie adaptation and video games inspired by movies have not the best record in turning out to be great videogames.
Pull List:Daredevil,Daredevil:Dark Nights,Infinity,Swamp Thing,Uncanny Avengers,Superior Spider-Man,Thor,New Avengers,Phantom Stranger,Superior Foes of Spider-Man.
I usually dislike movie games, most of them are just bad cash in messes, but when it comes to Spider-Man games his movies free roam games are among the best, my favorite ones to that matter
Then again, there are so many terrible games based neither on comics nor movies, so the "Movie games are bad" thing is...meh
Edge of Time downgraded some quality stuff from SD, with that I found it to be an awesome game.
I thought you find Peter David overrated whiteshark
TDKR trailer showed Bane walking on what seems to be a ladder and Batman shocked

Scarlet Spider, Thor, FF, Hawkeye, Nightwing
Marvel. You're embarassing yourself: RIP Spider-Man .
Misty Knight solo plz!
Almost finished with Arkham City, but holy hell, i'll never look at Spidey games the same again.
Things I would like to have in this game.
1. No annoying civilians. Or better done and believable civilians.
Why is it that civies in Spidey games all act weird? Their lines are delivered in such a comic book way (Oh Spidey, you're my number one!).
Surprisingly, I actually liked saving people in Arkham series. Every one I save deliver their lines in such a realistic and believable way. And the dialogue isn't: "Holy cow Batman, thanks a bunch for saving me."
2. Better combat.
I think it's time for Spider Man to move on from X= Light Attacks and Y= Heavy attacks and do more of a Arkham style. have X be your primary attack button (which Web of Shadows actually did) and Y as your counter. It not only frees up one more button for anything else (no heavy attack and block/counter is moved there instead) but it also stops that ridiculous Webbed-weapons from being made.
3. A Good Story.
This is a movie tie in game right?... yeah, i'll just be wasting my breath. I mean, what other villains can you create that will follow the Movie-universes' style? How will Mysterio look if we have yet to see him? Will Scorpion have a suit or...? Will Electro be more like Ultimate Electro or Cole from inFamous?
Other than that, the main plot will be about the Lizard... and yet the trailer shows a big ass spider slayer because... the Lizard isn't as important (???)
i wasn't impressed with the trailer, really (spoiled by Arkham and EoT... which made me lose faith in their future games). I really don't understand why people are saying "OMG, God answered! He's swinging again, so Open World's back! Its going to be the best-test spider game evar!"
Ummm, isn't that kinda the bare minimum we expect from a Spidey game, let alone a Superhero-themed Open world game? Prototype, inFamous, and etc. all have their own methods of traveling rapidly across the city. It's like saying: "Holy crap! Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom's gonna have a functioning combat system!" That's what you expect from a Fighting game, Fighting<----
Until I see combat, I won't be impressed.
But for better or worse, guys, go play Arkham City. It's going to set the bar to an unprecedented level for Superhero games, for better or worse

Finally someone agrees with me! I had generally avoided the thread because I didn't want to end up starting some kind of flame war. I wasn't trying to offend anyone, but all the people raving about this trailer from a minute of a guy swinging...it just makes you sound like fanboys, especially with the nasty responses I've had when I said the trailer sucked.
The short end of it, was the trailer was a load of swinging. It gave nothing away about the actual game itself and was ultimately pointless.
I've seen other Superhero trailers and teasers, and they've impressed me more than this
But yeah, I'm keeping my eyes for this, I mean, i am the guy who decided to buy Web of Shadows, SD, and EoT (sigh... i really wanted to like it, but boy was it a waste of money and time)

I dunno about the ASM game having great graphics. It looks okay for an open world game. I much would've preferred a more artistic approach since we've got Prototype already for the 'realistic art style' which this game probably is going for since the movie is also trying to be realistic.
The problem with past open world spidey games was the draw distance, thing popping up out of nowhere, which by now (2011) should be addressed hopefully.
As for Shattered Dimension's 'story'b y Dan Slott, lets just say the story is more of an excuse to have many bosses fighting four different spider men, its a turn off your brain plot.
Just buy SD, not EoT. Or better, get Arkham City, i just finished the lengthy story mode, and the game says im just about 30% finished A lot of content for a Singleplayer experience
