Speaking of...nothing - I like Amara best when she has curly hair. Not that I don't like her with straight hair too, but it helps distinguish between her and the horde of pretty blondes in MU - kind of like the heavy bangs and super straight hair helps distinguish Illyana.

Not to mention Amara is supposed to have brown eyes. Unfortunately a lot of times colorists stick with "typical" looks. Brunettes get brown eyes, blondes get blue eyes, and redheads get green eyes.

Wait - she is? I always thought she was supposed to have blue eyes! Edit: Checking Marvel Wikia and UncannyXmen.net confirms that she has blue.

Plus she needs to have Blue Eyes, otherwise New Mutants Forever is completely invalidated. The Red Skull took her as his prize/bride thing because she was an Aryan ideal, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and insanely powerful.

Plus she needs to have Blue Eyes, otherwise New Mutants Forever is completely invalidated. The Red Skull took her as his prize/bride thing because she was an Aryan ideal, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, and insanely powerful.

Her first appearance showed her to have brown eyes. That's what I'm going off of. Though the Red Skull logic seems to be fitting.

The "indistinguishable blondes" factor is part of why I liked the X-Men:Evolution animated take on the character that seemed to keep Amara as a dark haired Brasilian rather than have the brunette look be a disguise as in her introduction in New Mutants #8).

I couldn't stand that, and it was a tragedy considering I really, really loved X-Men Evo. Amara was sooooo annoying in it, and had even less of a personality than the non-personality DnA gave her recently(although, not gunna lie, loved the Tabby/Amara broship).

Besides, as the resident Bobby lover of the board, Amara needs to be blonde so she looks like Juliana. Who she already shares a middle name with. Not so subtle hint-hint.

Brown eyes would be cool, and give Amara an appropriate "earthy" aspect of her appearance.
Unfortunately it seems that eye color was abandoned early on, as the pages below from some of her first appearances show...

Peronality-wise, most of the characters in "Evolution" were de-aged and less mature than their Claremontian paper antecedents so I give Animated Amara a pass on that. My esteem goes more towards just the break from her standard visual in a way that makes sense given the region from which the character hails.

Is she a worldy hippie, nurturing mothering type, crazy town burning hothead, money hungry all about me type of chick(Allison Crestmere), royal snob, etc? What are the traits that you feel should shine through most with her?

I always saw her as an upper class woman with heart. She's used to the finer things in life because of her life in the highest socio-economic sphere in Nova Roma, but she feels compassion for other people and a desire to use her powers to help others.
