Not really. Avengers is a great movie and all, but it doesn't suddenly render the likes of Batman or Animal Man, or whatever book you're reading, unreadable.
My comic collection. Go on, have a look. You know you want to .

I see your side. But that movie just blew me away. There's no going back for me.

I presume you're joking/having a little fun, but since it's also fun to respond to crazy comments, comic book movies don't even change my opinion of the books that they related to, when i see Avengers i'll probably really like it since it looks good and is directed by Whedon, but it's not going to make me enjoy Bendis' Avengers. It might make me more excited for the Marvel Universe in general, maybe, but I'll have to wait for Bendis to leave Avengers and see what comes out of it.

There is, however, no logical rationale for enjoyment of a movie making me NOT enjoy something i was previously happy with. If Avengers is the best movie i've ever seen, i'm not going to suddenly drop Snyder's Batman. That makes no sense at all...

    Also, Journey into Cancellation XO
Currently recommending: Daredevil, Mudman ( it's back!), Hawkguy, and FF. Can't miss!

No I do not. Not in the least.

Conversely...do people/readers actually start reading the comic book just because the movie was "awesome"?
And then wot happens when they realise that apart from the costumes and powersets, the movie characters are written differently by different writers, from the comics characters. And a story that was told in 2 hours now has to be told over a period of six months...in "2D".

The only exception to that is Defenders, which have been a great new comic book, but without Dodson is not ranked great.
With Dodson illustrating the title again,i think it will place better in the rankings.
    Pull List:Uncanny Avengers,Avengers,Superior Spider-Man,Daredevil,All New X-Men,Hawkeye,Captain America,Thor:God of Thunder,Swamp Thing,Morbius,Thunderbolts,Iron Man,Fatale.

I don't think the Dodsons are coming back to the Defenders. Jamie McKelvie will be the new 'regular' artist.

I think McKelvie will be welcomed in and appreciated by Defenders readers, given the chance. Not a big name now perhaps to Marvel fans, but is a big time talent getting a chance to shine in the super hero world. Bright future for sure.

Im sorry but dropping one comic book publisher over another because of a movie might be the silliest reason I have ever heard of. I would guess that you are trying to get attention for some reason.

Arrrgh! I just don't get it. WTF? How could anyone drop JiM after reading it? I just can't wrap my brain around it.

After our guest artists, I'm looking forward to McKelvie on the Defenders. I'm curious who else will be drawing the book.

I jumped on the book with the previous arc but only read one issue and loved it. Then i stopped ordering it through dcbs when the Exhiled 5 issues in a month crossover was announced, then i felt reassured by my choice when the thor crossover was announced. As previously stated though, i'd definitely check out an ultimate collection tpb, but there is no interest in buying this monthly. Also, i'm buying too many books as it is.

Thank you for explaining your reasons and I do understand about buying too many books. I believe I said previously here, events certainly can hurt the sales of non-event books. I was hoping the crossovers would bring readers in, but it appears it turns people off too. I'm really looking forward to the EXILED, cause Carmine Di Giandomenico does some pretty cool art; I'm getting both Gillen and DnA (LOVED their cosmic stuff -- though I haven't warmed to their New Mutants); and EXILED is a blessed oasis amidst the AvX hype.
