How freely customizable is WWE '12? Is it good? Should I wait for '13?

i will gladly give you an answer if you are more specific. Do you mean the CAW systerm? or to customize matches?
CAW are very customizable. They have lots of options, and if you have patiente you can make very look a like wrestlers or creat very original ideas. This year you can even make a titantron. (well not actual video, but you can capture vids from your matches to make them into a titantron)

on another note, I found this (someoone thinks there will be no wwe 13 LOL)

THQ Will be Dead Within Six Months, Says Take-Two [Update]

    [Update]

Zelnick has since expressed regret for his words. He hasn't, however, retracted them. "While discussing our strategy I spoke out of turn about someone else’s," he told Game Informer. "It was inappropriate and I regret it."

    [Original Story]

The CEO of Grand Theft Auto publishers Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, has said that THQ will cease to exist within the next six months, owing to their current financial problems.

The statement has prompted an angry response by THQ’s corporate communications vice president Angela Emery, who has suggested that Zelnick “would be better off commenting on his own business.”

Zelnick made the claim at the MIT Business in Gaming conference yesterday, indicating that poor quality games and an abundance of licensed titles are responsible for THQ’s troubles.

"THQ's strategy was licensed properties, first and foremost. License stuff from other people, whether it's UFC or WWE or a motion picture property, and make a game around that," Zelnick explained. "And our approach, since we took over the company, is 100 per cent owned intellectual property."

Zelnick said that making licensed games leaves publishers at the mercy of the license holder, who has complete control over the contracts. He added that although THQ has begun to change direction in that regard, it will still take a long time for it to come to fruition. Too long, in fact.

"The most important difference is quality,” said, comparing the two publisher’s fortunes. “Take-Two has the highest quality ratings among third-party publishers, according to Metacritic and most people in the industry. Quality really, really, really matters. THQ has had some good games, but their quality levels aren't even remotely... the quality hasn't measured up.

"THQ won't be around in six months," he concluded.

Zelnick’s comments have prompted a response from THQ, who were far from impressed. "Obviously, Mr. Zelnick's perception of THQ is outdated and inaccurate,” said corporate communications vice president Angela Emery. “His comments are irresponsible and false. Perhaps he would be better off commenting on his own business."

Regardless of either party’s comments, the fact is that THQ are struggling financially. The publisher has had to lay off a number of staff following the poor performance of some of their titles. They also recently scaled down plans for a Warhammer MMO, developing it into a single-player game instead."

So no different that SvR 11? I was hoping for matches, belts, and other things like rings or brands. I heard you can run a CAW league this year with your own belts but I guess that's not the case.

i've been having a blast playing WWE all stars. not the best "wrestling" game but a lot of fun.
Mr. Backlund continued wrestling under the new gimmick of an out of touch, yet highly dangerous, maniac out to teach the new generation a lesson.[3] He often appeared in business suits, had a hyperactive personality, and used (or, often, misused) large words to sound important. He also demanded that he be addressed as "Mr. Backlund". He would only sign autographs for wrestling fans if they could recite the names of all of the US Presidents in chronological order

I'll say it. All-Stars was more fun than the last three WWE games. Four if we count Legends of Wrestlemania.

"THQ has released its fiscal 2012 Q4 results and year end results today, revealing that Obsidian Entertainment's South Park: The Stick of Truth (formerly South Park: The Game) has been delayed into THQ's fiscal Q4 2013, which by our reckoning is Q1 2013.

That means it'll now launch in the same 2013 release window as THQ's Metro: Last Light, with the publisher's annual WWE title also slated to land in 2013. Obviously. Darksiders II is still set for August 2012 and Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix will be launching in September 2012.

Talking of Saints Row, THQ also reported that the Saints Row franchise as a whole has shipped a staggering 11 million units, with 4.25 million units of Saints Row: The Third being shipped. Rebranding the WWE franchise for WWE '12 also helped the company's wrestling title to 2.2 million units shipped to date. UFC Undisputed 3 meanwhile, has shipped 1.4 million units.
Last, but not least, THQ is also looking to drop Tomonobu Itagaki's Devil's Third. Itagaki's first project with his new outfit Valhalla Games since uncerimoniously departing Team Ninja, the shooter title has been shelved by the publisher. Bah! Still, it could be picked up by another publisher. Maybe."

I am guessing there might have been some truth to the rant that guy on the previous report I quoted. THQ might not be dying but looks to no be 100% ok.
I guess that other fighting wwe game has been cancelled as there is no news about it.
and I will miss my yearly release of the wwe game. now I will have to wait until next year it seems.

Good. Maybe they'll finally improve more than just redressing the windows. 12 is the best in awhile though.

"While no contract has been agreed, another name that is highly speculated to be heading to the WWE is Matt Morgan, however nothing further has materialised since he was taken out on a recent episode of TNA Impact Wrestling. Morgan was at one stage believed to be behind the company’s viral videos stating that “A Revolution is Coming”, but that is now said to be hinting at the WWE ’13 videogame, scheduled for release this October. The company plan on getting the videos for WWE ’13 out there prior to showcasing the game fully at the E3 convention at the beginning of June. "

This is starting to confuse me. THQ said that the game will be release early 2013. now there is info of it coming in October??? maybe the viral video is indeed for a new video game, not wwe13. I remember sometime ago THQ announced a mortal Kombat like game but mixed with adventure starring the WWE. Nothing has been said about it. Maybe they indeed will do it?

The last couple years WWE has released 2 games, so that's the easiest explanation I suppose.

The WWE game typically sell well from what I understand, so if THQ is struggling I imagine putting out 2 games would be in their best interest.

It would be pretty easy to do a pure fighting game with WWE superstars if they wanted... WWE All Stars was ALMOST more a fighter than a wrestling game anyways.

Hmmm... I wonder if the Godfather comes out with Ho's. Entrance wise, that would be pretty cool.

I think that list is bunk. It's missing DDP, who was confirmed by Yukes months ago. But it is Yukes ...
