Neither for me. I prefer the 1980s version where the history was kept but it was the same guys as before. Didn't bother me that they don't try to explain away the decades between then and their last appearance. If you must, give some little comicbooky scene that explains how the other 1940s heroes ended up in the present (and I'd prefer to have the Wizard and Hangman as good guys if possible), but otherwise just tell stories as if their last appearance was last month. If you're going to go the legacy/reboot route on the whole kit and kaboodle, just give me all new characters and leave the originals in limbo. The only legacy characters I like are the likes of the original Teen Titans or Infiniti Inc, you know where they don't actually replace the originals who are still around and kicking butt.
I read a few versions of them in the German publication, 20 Years ago and remember it was partly bad, but i liked it nonethless. It was called "Star Team" over here. Is there a chance to collect the different runs in english paperbacks?
so when does the print issues come out?
Does anyone know if they are planning on putting out tpb print versions of the RED CIRCLE comics from the 80's?
No.
I am for more diverse heroes, but it is not an either/or equation. We can have both. If you look at the most popular and successful characters of diversity, they aren't replacement characters or had it shoe-horned in: Luke Cage, Black Panther, Storm, Northstar, Blade, Black Lightning, Static. Or you can have spin-off characters that didn't negate the originals: Ms Marvel, She-Hulk, Mary Marvel, Batwing.
