Default Hey, Let's ask Kurt Busiek questions!

As one of my absolute favorite creators of all time, there are times when I wish he'd answer my questions, so I'm creating this thread in hopes that he, (and possibly Uncle Rog (aka Roger Stern)) would be so kind as to answer some of my daunting(maybe annoying, but whatevs. stfu if you don't like them) questions that I MUST NEEDS TO HAVE ANSWERED!!!!eleven!1 So I sit here imploring that they tell me what I want to know!

    QUESTION #1:

What were your original plans for Avengers: World in Chains with you and Carlos Pacheco? Was this to be an ongoing/mini?

This is one of my all time favorite Avengers epics, and when I found out that this was meant to be something else, that just has me salivating all the more just to find out what it was originally meant to be. Please, sir, tell me. :)

Oh! P.S. Anyone can ask a question of the fine gentleman/men (wink wink Uncle Rog)
There are four stages of matter. Solid. Liquid. Gas & Don't. It's science.
I am a male. Deal with it.

If there was a same difference, then what makes them different?

Not gonna say, sorry. Those plans might be useful someday.

Was this to be an ongoing/mini?
It would have been a 12-issue limited series, same size as AVENGERS FOREVER.

I've been enjoying Ed Brubaker's CAPTAIN AMERICA a lot. And I really liked the first issue of the CAPTAIN AMERICA & BUCKY run.

Did you ever have plans for a sequel to the JLA/ Avengers crossover?

Looking back on your Avengers run, is there anything you would do differently?

    Thanks for your time

Lots of things, I'm sure. But we did it the way we did it, for better or for worse, and I'm content with that.

Do you have any Spidey stories up your sleeve that you someday hope to tell?

    How'd your sinus surgery go?

I opted for the alergy shot method. After about a year, I think I'm starting to see some improvements.

I still have about 2 years of shots to go.

Hopefully I can avoid the surgery part.

    Hey Kurt, here's a question....

In the time you've been in comics have your approach to pacing a story and writing dialogue changed? Do you see a difference between how comics were written in the 80s as opposed to today and if you think there's a difference has your writing changed to reflect that. Lastly, do you think it's important for a writer to change his style to stay employed and or current in today's comicbook industry?

The reason I ask is I see so many fans complaining about not getting their money's worth because they can read a comic so quickly but I think just putting in more words doesn't mean you're getting more "story" per se.

I've got ideas, but I'm not currently hoping to write Spider-Man. Maybe sometime in the future.

I had about five of them, I think. But the polyps seem to have stopped coming back.

Is this just a Marvel thread or can I ask Astro City questions?

Are there any plans for some sort of Astro City omnibus or some oversize hardcover collections? If not would they be possible in the future?
