Does anyone know what the difference is between Infrared radiation, thermal vision, and infrared vision?
I made this thread because I just finished watching the three Predator movies.
I know that infrared is related to heat in some way, but am not sure what the difference is between the three.
I looked up some images on google of infrared and it seems to match up closely to the scenes of the Predator's infrared vision from the movies.
Similar images came up when I googled thermal vision.
Then I saw some photos of infrared photography and things looked MUCH different. Everything looked like they are supposed to, with fine details, but the colors were different. It didn't seem to be the reds and blues associated with "heat" but more like just vibrant, weird colors on a normal object.
I always thought that infrared vision was just "seeing" the temperature of objects, but I also know that infrared is an entire spectrum of light. So....?
So does anyone know for sure what is the difference between infrared, infrared vision, thermal vision, and whatever is used in infrared camera photography?
