Default CBR: Lobdell Tackles DC Comics' Teenaged Titans

Scott Lobdell writes "Red Hood and the Outlaws," "Superboy" and "Teen Titans" for DC Comics, and thanks to the publisher's launch of the New 52, he has a clean slate to tell his tales of the teenage titans.

Well, in a way, "Superboy" and "Teen Titans" kind of read like a bi-weekly series. That doesn't mean we say "Achoo" in one book and "God bless, you" in the other book. But there will be a lot of cross-pollination between the two books.
Boy, I seem to recall being worried about this very thing for quite some time, and being told it wouldn't happen...

He said cross-polination. you keep screaming about how this means Superboy gets two books, which again, I haven't seen any evidence of.

Really was excited for Lobdell coming on, then Outlaws became a train wreck, don't care for Superboy so I skipped that and I liked his Titans. Really was excited about Outlaws the most too

Screaming requires all-caps. I just don't see a possible way for it to happen otherwise based on all the available information. He's describing them as bi-weekly books essentially, even using that analogy. There is only one thing in common between the books. That's Superboy. So, yeah, it sounds exactly like that.

However, because I'm not buying any more of his work from DC, I don't have to worry about it!

Because I hated all of them with the fire of a thousand suns. I gave Lobdell three chances to change what I remembered about the last time I read anything he wrote, and I was disappointed.

No, there's NOWHERE. NOWHERE appeared as the main villains in the first issue without Superboy getting much more than a cameo. He's said repeatedly that Superboy doesn't even meet the Titans until around the 4th issue.

He still failed to get this sarcastic point across, this from the same article said it best

On the one hand, I’m glad to see that Starfire’s portrayal will be fleshed out in future issues. On the other, I’m not sure the scene really got over the idea that she was being purposefully evasive because of issues that’ll come up later in the series. But unclear writing isn’t the same as thoughtless writing, so let’s chalk this up to (unpleasant) experience and hope for the best moving forward, I guess. But somehow, I find myself hoping that the sarcastic amnesia doesn’t last too long…

So, the main villains from Superboy's title also happen to be the main villains of the TT. Boy, color me shocked. That totally alleviates my concerns about TT being another Superboy-centric title.

Actually, I have no more concerns about it. However it goes isn't going to cost me a time, nor a minute of my time.

The villains have a global scale beyond Superboy, so yes, they can be used organically for the Titans. As I just said, they showed up and fought the Titans without Superboy appearing beyond a cameo.
