Brand New Superhero

Shortly after Crisis on Infinite Earths, Booster Gold was a brand new super hero created in his own series. I think in a few months or whenever DC makes more on going titles, DC should create a brand new super hero that isn't a legacy character like Robin, Blue Beetle ect. and that doesn't appear in a crisis. And when was the last time we had a hero appear in his own book #1 at DC? Was it Booster?

I know but they have to throw a bat on someone or have him appear in someone else's book. I'd just like a "New Super Hero #1" and go from there. Without ties to other characters, but of course he'd meet other characters and be in the same universe. That hasn't happened in forever.

I understand the marketing angle, but can't we just throw a new character out there and see how he does?

That's the last thing I remember as a brand new hero with a solo title in the DCU, without ties to an existing character, no Bat this, Super that, Flash this, Green Lantern that, etc. But I'm not a DCU historian, by any means. My guess is Aztech. I liked him. Dead now. There must be another...

I don`t even think such connections disqualify him. He was his own character, it`s just that he was inserted in DCU.
