Default Does Marvel own Dinosaurs for Hire?

Since Marvel bought Malibu's properties back in the mid '90s, did Dinosaurs for Hire get bought by Marvel as well or was this Tom Mason's property only? Wouldn't mind seeing a Howard the Duck and Dinosaurs for Hire book by Slott.

I think they only have access to the Ultraverse titles. Which is why stuff like Ninja High School was later published elsewhere.

I'd love to see a return of Dinosaurs for Hire, though.

If they don't already own it, they really, really, really should.

It would blow all other books out of the water.

And not even access to that, which is why they don't publish it. But most of Malibu's existence was as more of a publisher, not developer of content. Hence Image starting out there. Although I believe they may have also owned stuff like The Protectors, but maybe not. And I say this as the 17 year old kid who worked there mailing back people their artwork.

Yeah, it came out for the Super Nintendo in the early 90s.

I just remembered. Didn't the writer destroy the Protectors' universe in Protectors #20 because they didn't want Marvel to have them after Marvel bought the rights? Maybe they do own Dinosaurs for Hire.

Weren't most of the Protectors characters old public domain characters?

Yeah, but their versions of the characters aren't. You know, Thor is a public domain character, Marvel's Thor isn't.

The Protectors were public domain characters from what I've read. I was sort've under the impression Dinosaur For Hire was a creator owned property. And on the subject of the Ultraverse, according to the creators themselves that kind of get a backhanded blame for them not being used. That the Ultraverse is, out and out owned by the House of Ideas. None of the Ultraverse brain trust know why Marvel is reluctant to utilize guys like Prime, Rune, Sludge, NightMan, the Strangers, Atalon, Ripfire, and a whole slew of others who've been on the shelf for wwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long gathering dust.

    Default Malibu Superheroes

Three teams died before the Ultraverse was introduced. The Protectors, Ex-Mutants and Dinosaurs for Hire, all dead! Their lives were ended in this Malibu crossover event that I can't remember the name of at this time. Then came the new universe! Prime, Sludge, Hardcase, Prototype, Mantra, Rune, etc...
