Somebody please ask Didio about the Earth-2 and JSA plans--ask him when we might possibly see this get started and please find out if we are talking about a miniseries (perhaps based on the series that James Robinson was reportedly working on about a year or two ago) or a full series. Tell him, he's awesome--but we are really excited to hear any information! Any information!

I wish I could be there to tell him how much I hate the reboot and what's wrong with it. Of course there is other I tell him too but I'm censoring myself right now to what that would be.

Q.: How can you tell when Dan DiDio is lying?
A.: When you see his lips move.
Really? Haven't you already voted with your wallet? Why would you feel the need to go OUT of your way, spend cash on gas (possibly risking a ticket, accident, who knows what), spend your valuable time just to be rude to someone? You've already expressed your displeasure by not buying the comics, I assume, plus you've stated your dissatisfaction here (and I'm guessing numerous other locations online), yet still you feel the need to be a jerk?
OK, back to the subject at hand -- I only WISH I could attend. Sounds like a fantastic group of guys and very nice of DiDio to show up. Good luck to CBR, Golden Apple & DC Comics!

I ain't no hot dog, yo.
Because voting with your wallet doesn't work when you are talking about an idiot audience like comic book readers... Yes, i'm a comic book readers, but that doesn't stop me realizing that my own demographic will pretty much purchase anything if you put "issue 1" on the front of it. Look how many people purchased multiple copies of JLA 1 & Action Comics 1 on the basis that they will one day be worth lots of money (all without realizing that they will never be worth lots of money & that the speculators market was what almost killed the industry back in the 90's).
stating ones dissatisfaction =/= being a jerk.
I am also disatisified with the new line up & now we have the entire first month of issues 1's i can legitimately say that not only was i not impressed with it, i was down right discouraged by the lazy writing & over use of spectacle to hide the lack of content.
The only book that was out and out good was Teen Titans.
They can disagree all they like, but since writings technical qualities are judged objectively & not subjectively, they might as well disagree with there voices and wallets on the subject of 1 apple plus 1 apple equalling 2 apples. It wont change the fact that across the board the issue 1s were poorly written with maybe a single handful of slightly less poorly written issues (Static Shock & Teen Titans for example).
I just felt a disturbance in the force. A million English students and professors cried out, all at once, in shock at your lack of understanding of literature.
Writing is judged both objectively and subjectively. No matter how technically competent a piece may be (its objective "goodness"), it may have no appeal at all stylistically (as in grammatical structure choices, word choice, etc... technical elements that determine the tone and style of a piece), and, therefore, be subjectively bad. The converse, of course, is also true.
That's all I'm going to say about that.
ON TOPIC:
Awesome that DiDio is going to be at the wrap party--wish I could be there, but Hollywood is a bit too far of a drive.
You're working off a common assumption that is not supported by fact -- where are you seeing that there's been a major speculator boom? I read a LOT of comic blogs and Web sites and have seen no reporting on it. Sure, there is bound to be some, but nothing major.
That said, to help get this thread back on point, I really would have liked to meet DiDio and Fialkov the most on that list of guests. Surprisingly enjoyed OMAC (never really enjoyed DiDio's work before, but this was WAY fun) and REALLY liked I, VAMPIRE - that and VOODOO quickly became my two favorite books of the New 52.

I never said I was going to. I couldn't afroid to waste the money do they. I do speak with my wallet not buying books I think are dumb and just wrong. It was more wishing it were on east coast or I live in hollywood to be able to go.
I agree as I was one of those fans that just blindly buy books told you have to like #1s. I realized how stupid I was and I admit that. I buy now on what I think of book. I like a few of the DCNU but for every good thing there to many negative things about it.
By the way if DC really wants to impress me call me when you get back to 500,000 or more with relaunch books. Getting back to a few years ago numbers doesn't mean much in a industry that is going through what it is now. Plus we will see in a few months if once the hype and media and everything dies down that even 200,000 lasts.
