Okay, Im really excited about this. Superman with a new love interest? Hell yeah!!!
- 6 Issue arcs, long term plan.
- #1 Introduced Action Comics' long term villain, it's a he. So it's likely Luthor, or was this to make us think it's Luthor? Who knows!
- #7 will show Superman at his limit, can he fly? How does he fly? All answered.
- 1st arc deals about Superman's change from an Outlaw to the 1st Hero and how someone who gets this bright idea of changing the world effects him.
- Since Superman becomes a big symbol, we'll see Clark Kent buy a bunch of Superman shirts for himself for crime fightning purposes! :p
- The second issue is very different, because Superman is confined to a chair for half of it so you have to do different things to get the feeling of "Action." And the third issue is different again, because Superman only appears in a few panels. It's mostly a Clark Kent story. So again, it's a different type of story.
- Clark's obviously a big part of it. We're showing a younger Clark, a bit more radical. He's a bit fierier. So it's a lot of fun spending time with him. He's very intelligent and smar
- Clark and Lois are sparring partners
- Superman will have romantic interludes with women, not just Lois Lane.
- Luthor's always going to be there in the texture of the book. He's not necessarily the main antagonist but I think he's always around as part of the cast. If the book was a TV show, you would want to see all of the characters every week. There is always a role for Luthor in there, but he's not necessarily the main villain. In fact, in a lot of instances, he's not the villain at all because he has an excuse for what he's doing. But underneath it all, he's still this envious, jealous, little man. That always stays the same.

Interesting, interesting. The guy seems to know where he wants to go, and that's a good thing. I wonder what will turn him into the "world's greatest hero". Probably that thing past Neptune, or something like that.
Really sold on this, although I would have liked that Superman remained an "outlaw" for a little bit longer.

I can't wait to see Morrison's take on the early Justice League.
Pull List: Action Comics, Green Lantern, GLC, GL: New Guardians, Justice League, The Flash, Batman Inc, Batman, Nightwing, Batman & Robin, Dial H, Animal Man, Frankenstien, Earth-2
Bet you a dozen donuts the long-term villain is that short guy with a mustache who takes the elevator downstairs as the police rush to deal with Superman.
Don't worry.

We are the X-men, and we stand together
I hope we get Lana Lang, mostly to erase that bad memory of her from Smallville.
Great interview. I'm also thinking that the main antagonist is going to be the little twirp, or Glenmorgan. The latter was already name-dropped in Superman #1, so maybe that's a sign of a big presence in Metroplis DCnU. I think one of the two will end up being the founder of Intergang.

The T-Shirt comment made me think of the Smallville episode, "Idol" where Clark's heroism as the Blur spawns the production of items with his symbol on it.
Chloe: Hey. Cheers -- for earning another stripe today.
Clark: Where'd you get that?
Chloe: The street vendor on the corner. It also comes in t-shirts and key chains. I had to be the first one on the block to get the superhero swag.
On another note, I'm curious who Clark will be having romantic interludes with, because whoever they are it obviously doesn't last given Clark's pining for Lois years later in Perez's SUPERMAN #1.
Sounds perfect. This is the absolute best possible thing they could have done with Superman.
I hope Grant has a very, very long run on Action. Also much looking forward to the Fialkov Steel backup and the Gene Ha art, in addition to Rags' continuing work.
