Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose.
The Point One initiative is supposed to a drive to provide easy jumping on points for new readers. This book is an extension of that by being a prologue of sorts to upcoming stories and events. It's a bit like DC's Countdown to Infinite Crisis one shot form a few years back. This is the text from the Previews Catalogue:

64 PGS./ Rated T+ …5.99
Based on the page count in Tom's statement (I'll pass on making the obvious observation this time around), it seems like it'll have no ads.
Does anyone know what big change happened to the Marvel Universe 35 (or more) years ago? Giant Size X-Men and Jean Grey's transformation to Phoenix are two things off the top of my head. Anything else?
My comic collection. Go on, have a look. You know you want to.
Going Green for St Patrick's Weekend!
So if Nova is coming back what about Starlord and Thanos since you can't really get one back without the other two?
And are they coming back in the Nova book or will it happen in Annihilators. I kind of think that it will somehow be the big twist (only not so much now) of Earthfall.
You have Loeb to thank for Ultimatum and Onslaught. So yes, he can write events so bad you wish you could un-read them. I hate to say it but since his son passed away Loeb has barely been able to write a coherent sentence, let alone a decent and coherent story. I wish a company would just give him a monthly stipend out of loyalty and ask him not to write anything anymore because he's just ruining his legacy putting out such awful material these days. Same goes for James Robinson at DC.
Cosmic and Nova fans, like you're not the same people! Hear me!
Yes it's Jeph Loeb. Yes the quality of his writing can be questionable and eyebrow-raising at best.
But really, let's just accept it. We've known that he's going to work on the cosmic stuff for quite some time now, or at least had suspicions about it. Now it's happening and there's really nothing we can do about it.
So let's just buy the cosmic books. Give them our support as Marvel is putting on of their currently most commerically successful writers on our little corner of the MU and hope for the best. By which I mean hope that it's going to be like his Red Hulk book, which is enjoyable after turning of your brain, instead of his Ultimatum book, which is stupid and disgusting.
If there is no planet flying around with a goatee I might buy it.

Glad this solicit got re-posted. I remember a while back something being said about the "biggest change in 35 years". I started looking for the quote the other day to include in another post, but couldn't find it. I thought Axel or Tom had said it in an interview, but I hadn't been able to track it down. All along it was in this solicit.
My first thought was Giant Sizes X-Men as well. That shook up the X-Men and launched them in being the most popular franchise comics for 20+ years. I know the quote is all hype, but to throw something like that out there, it still has to be pretty big.
As far as Loeb goes, I highly doubt he's writing the next event. Dude has way too much on his plate with the TV and animation departments to helm a wide line story. X-Sanction is his big part for next year.

First of all, I'll buy it, no matter the writer and artist. This is the first time we will be getting a Nova title less than five years after the previous one was canceled.
Also, we have no idea who the writer and artist will be. There are a number of writers and artists on this point one, 64 page issue. Loeb may not be the writer for Nova's section. And if he is, he may not write the new series.
And McGuinness's cover - he has to draw a massive star on the helmet. He does not draw anything small.
Loeb and McGuiness ARE the writer/artist for the Nova section. Wishful thinking won't change that.

Why does everyone assume there will be a new Nova series? He could just be part of something else?
I wrote a blog on science and superheroes! Check it out, if you'd like! http://thoughtfulconduit.com/whatdoesthismean/?p=186

Because it's been hinted repeating by the Editors during the recent ComicCons, IIRC.......
Still, whether it's his own series (again) or him joining a "Cosmic" Team; it'll be great for Nova to be back in the MU (regardless of who the Creative Team will be......although I agree with the majority about wanting DnA back for the Human Rocket, but I'm willing to give Mr. Loeb a try.)
