Can't say I'm suprised at what Dean did in this last episode. Would have preferred it if he didn't, but that probably would have been out of character.

Overall, this episode was....udnerwhelming. A nice touch of character building for Sam, but that's about it really.

After all that, I don't see Dean letting that kid walk away either.

Eh, no I completely buy that. Especially after he started asking it questions.

So Dean kills the mother, who provided herself and the kid with brains from dead bodies and lets the kid go, who now will have to kill to survive. This does not make sense. Either kill both or none.

The leviathans seem to be quite proactive. They are actively trying to get the Winchesters first, tracking them with technology etc.

Exactly! Way to take out the only thing keeping him in check and hopefully teaching him how to control his nature. Imagine how many people he's going to kill when he becomes a teenager. From what I saw (and stereotyped) Mom was targeting and killing undesirables. Way to do the right thing, Mr. Tortured Guys in Hell! Asshole move Dean!

Oh, and that might also be one of the lamest weaknesses ever for a monster.

Really? Just "stab it in the heart"?

    *Everything* dies that way!

Well, okay, maybe not everything, but at least 90% do in that show. I mean, come on. Couldn't it have been some sort of odd Japanese herb or something (concidering Kitsune are of Japanese origin) instead?

Haha, I missed that one, but there were 2 other non-Winchester alias references I did see. Now unless I misread a quick glance at the credits, Ackles directed the episode. And I'm pretty sure The Bloodiest Valentine's Day 3D (or whatever the name was) commercial was a nod to My Bloody Valentine (where Ackles had a role). And the convenience store clerk had a Red Hood shirt on, who Ackles voiced in the animated movie.

Yeah. Completely in-character for him, just didn't expect them to show it, I guess. Still a dick move though.

did anyone else notice the cashier was wearing a batman under the red hood shirt?

This episode had two nods to Jensen movies he did.

I can see Dean not killing the kid being in character. At the same time it is quite odd that he put the kid into a situation where he is more likely to kill. Even if the kid goes and finds some relatives, unless they are also kitsune..how are they gonna stop him if he decides to kill?

Also, I'd hope whoever he is going to is nearby..since how is he going to eat without killing? Though that same question could be asked even if he found someone to stay with. Unless he just happens to know another person with access to dead bodies.

I'd also wonder how Amy herself would get eat prior to her mortician job? It's not exactly easy for a kid to get access to dead bodies, though I guess she could of just kept breaking into morgues.
