Well there is a way to keep that story in continuity while still use the same gods featured therein. We know the Greek gods do NOT use vessels (hence Hermes is dead dead), but for all we know the other gods did. What if the only thing Lucifer destroyed that night was their vessels? That way they can all come back just played by different actors.

I can see that. Demons aren't the only ones that can escape from their vessels when the going gets tough.

just fine...its got HD (when available) and they have a s**t ton of TV...they have deals with WB, Disney, CBS, they also have some NBC vault stuff....like all of Cheers and Frasier is on there

Something kind of funny I just noticed after rewatching the first episode of this latest season. Well not funny, just one of those weird little things you notice after watching an episode a few times. So in the first episode Dean is all bitching at Sam for not looking for him when he was in purgatory, etc. Sam tells him why he stopped hunting and that he found a girlfriend. So Sam says he met the girl when he hit her dog and Dean had smelled dog in the impala earlier so he goes something like "There are rules man, you don't take a joint from a guy named Don and no dogs in the car".

Reason it's weird? Sam's girlfriend Amelia's husband was named Don(Dean had no way of knowing that at the time).

In the long run closing both would have been an extremely selfish thing to do. What about the good people who die and would have went to heaven. But because it would have been closed they would be stuck.

After watching that episode where they freed Bobby from Hell I would think that if Souls couldn't get into heaven that would make them fair game to be snagged by demons and dragged into hell. Like how Crowley tried to take bobby back before Naomi scared him off.
