It really would have been better if they had cancelled the show--sad to say.

I have built up a lot of loyalty to the actors on this show, so I really want to keep watching them. But it can't be Community without the guy who created the show involved in the show.

I wonder how the cast are feeling about this.

Christ. I'd rather the show was canceled.

First they grant our wish and then turn it into a nightmare. NBC is like the Devil in a Twilight Zone episode.

Harmon also got fired from The Sarah Silverman Show, didn't he? I'm guessing that this wasn't just about an argument with Chevy Chase.

Well, there's only one way to find out. There have been shows where the creator left and the the quality didn't drop. On the other hand, there's every David E. Kelly show...

I thought the quality dropped this year WITH Harmon and the show could possibly get back on track without him. THey did end the season nicely though...the final 3 episodes were great.

I wonder if this has to do with the spat with Chevy Chase? it seems weird since he isn't even the star of the show and so wouldn't have any pull to get him fired.

Looking online at some stuff it appears he is kind of sensitive to criticism maybe?

some kind of diva-esque attitude to go with the genius? wouldn't be the first time and would probably explain the beef with Chevy and him being fired.

Yeah, but I would much rather have Dan, the producers and Chris McKeena then Chevy.

I can understand wanting to discipline Dan Harmon--he does seem to get out of control sometimes--but even if he's not the show runner, he should still be the head writer and creative force behind the show.

Not every episode worked this season, some fell flat, but there was a lot of creativity all year long. We gained insights into Troy, Annie, and Abed--who seemed to be the main focus this year. But all the others got their pay-off--Shirley got re-married, Pierce became a little less homophobic, and Jeff learned that all his experiences make him a better person. And Britta--okay maybe this season wasn't so kind to her character.

If Harmon really is frozen out next season, then it will be a dark timeline. Probably not the darkest, though. The whole notion of possible timelines for this show was something we got this season, which now informs how we think about it. We've been given the tools to construct our own Dreamatorium where we can explore those possibilities.

So we get Cougar Town on TnT without Bill Lawrence as show runner & Community without Dan Harmon? Not sure how that's going to work out. (especially for Abed)

I like "Happy Endings" but having two of their writers running Community seems like an odd paring.

It's possible that it might be easier to replace Dan than it would be to replace Chevy.

I'm more afraid of the show losing it's unique voice more than anything else.

I like Pierce, but if his character were to leave, nothing of value would really be lost.

I disagree. I don't think there's any main cast member you could remove from the show without losing what makes the show great.

Well, at least Bill Lawrence is still happily working on Cougar Town.
