The singing was real good this episode with Finn's rendition an interesting change from the original tempo of the song.
I'm still having a bit of trouble believing Santanna's lesbianism. Right now it seems more like jealousy of Brittany's/Artie's relationship. For years Santanna has had Brittany almost total attention and now she has to share Brittany with someone else. Almost like a single child having the total attention of the parents and finding out that another child is entering the family and having to share the parents. Maybe once Santanna shows sexual attraction/romantic feelings for another female will it feel more real.
In search of Claire...or Libby Hoeler :D

Yeah, I do tend to think Glee sort of throws stuff out there then ignores it. Not just romatic relationship stuff, but relationships in general for the more secondary characters.
In the first season Mercedes and Quinn sort of bonded a bit, with Quinn eventually living with Mercedes after she got kicked out of her house. But we saw none of that on-screen after it happened, and it was basically ignored later.
We sort of saw Artie and Puck bonding a bit last season, when Puck was using Artie for community service or whatever. I thought that was actually kinda cool, but it was also sort of ignored.
I think the show would be better off slowing down and focusing on whats there rather than constantly throwing out new stuff and moving on to something else.
Yes! And let's forget how Brittany and Rachel were buddies and Rachel was destined to hate Brittany for making a fashion statement and becoming a model.
Puck and Artie was somewhat touched upon...But I hated how the writers pretty much just gave the fans a big FU when Puck ignored Artie's handshake. (It's bad enough Artie doesn't even hang with New Directions like he used too.)
Santana and Rachel....SANTANA WANTED TO KILL RACHEL...Now it's the opposite we sing songs together because were good friends? Lame!
Does Mike and Tina have any chemistry with anyone? They're just like Matt from S1 he didn't say ANYTHING with the other characters but just there to lend a voice. Heck Sugar has more interactions than those three.
Kurt and (Santana, Brittany, Sam, and Mercedes) I dunno why but when he teamed up with them he always had something witty and funny now since Blaine came into the picture...His story is about done.
Puck and Finn WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR FRIENDSHIP?!
The only one that is still strong is Mercedes and Santana's love-hate relationship.

Yeah, there are a few neglected cast people.
They did at least give Mike some storylines and showed his parents... which was nice. But it would be cool if he was shown to be be actually friends with a few of the other people and maybe hang out with them from time to time.
He seems to hang out with Artie in the background a lot (or at least he seems to push Arties wheel chair the most). And that's sort of ironic since he was kind of the guy that stole his girlfriend... but mostly they're both sort of in the background these days.
I think this show basically can only focus on 1-2 relationships at a time for whatever reason. Usually one of them is Finn/Rachel... but since they're relatively drama free these days it's at least freeing up one slot.

This episode was sucking Blaine’s dick so hard that Kurt and Sebastian should start getting jealous
The singing in the episode was definitely . . . underwhelming. I really wasn't blown away by anybody at sectionals. It was nice to see the spotlight get past around to a bunch of people (I mean Tina actually had a lead song at sectionals?), but nobody really blew me away either. That includes the Troubletones. I think ND was definitely the better group, but we also had time to see them more.
I still can't believe they covered Red Solo Cup. I can't tell if I'm amused or horrified yet.
It was nice to have Sam back, and it's pretty clear that we're heading for future Blaine/Sam issues. It makes sense, those are your two potential leads for next year (well, Rory too I guess, but he'll slip more into an Artie role I think).
Quinn doing a 180 that quick is a little hard to swallow, but it's nice to see sane Quinn back. And the Rachel/Quinn scene at the end of the episode was cute.
It's a weird episode when the drama on the show actually ends up being stronger than the singing.
I thought the MJ thing was sort of uneven... but that's probably not shocking since it was like 3 different songs.
It wasn't my favorite of their competition numbers by any stretch of the imagination, but as you mentioned I did like that a lot of the people were used instead of just the same few over and over.
I literally think everyone got a solo at one point... which is something I don't think we've ever seen. Even Mike.
I dont think it was set up to blow you away. I think they could have picked a better song for the troubletones and that is where you would have been blown away at, but it the set up was where since Rachel was out and ND didn't have that go to voice they had to find a different way to win.
If they were going to do one Janet Jackson song they should have did Rhythm Nation.
