Are you telling us who you think will win or should win?

The Emmys refusal to recognize Community and Cougartown is absurd, so I'm refusing to recognize their awards.

Then I'm afraid your write-in vote has no chance :)

Anyway, for best drama and best comedy categories, I think it's ultimately Friday Night Lights and Modern Family, respectively. For Best Drama, I think there's a good chance that voters won't go for Mad Men because it won many times in the past, and that Game of Thrones is still a bit untested as a fantasy series (the same curse that many people fear affected the first two LoTR movies in the Oscars). Boardwalk Empire is the closest on that list of pulling an upset, I believe. Friday Night Lights wins partly as a swan song, partly because of being a more consistent critical darling.

For Best Comedy, while I think Parks & Rec is the superior show, I think Modern Family will win. It's a safe bet with plenty of mainstream appeal, moreso than Big Bang Theory. The Office and Glee are also sentimental favorites but the overall quality of their seasons varied quite a bit this year. 30 Rock is a former safe bet, but in a sense it's the Mad Men of the category, in that winning often in the past may hinder them now.

Anything but Glee should win. Actually, I don't get Big Bang Theory at all, and it's opposite Community, so I really don't want them to win either. Parks and Rec or Modern Family are most the deserving. I only recently started watching the latter. I was amazed at how good it actually was. At least Community got an Emmy for the Christmas special. But it is an absolute crime that no other recognition. At the *very least,* Chevy Chase should be up for supporting actor.

    I hope Ed O'Neil wins.

I don't think Game of Thrones best drama will win this year. It's probably going to be Boardwalk Empire or Mad Men. Having won before isn't always a hindrance with Emmy voters. Frasier won how many freakin' times? Outside chance for Friday Night Lights, as a parting gift.

Peter Dinklage is practically a shoe-in for best supporting actor.

The Pillars of the Earth wasn't that good. Other than techncial awards and maybe a few actors, I don't think it should be nominated. I think it's just there because it was such a big production.

I predict Kate Winslet will bring home an Emmy to put next to her Oscar.

Lara Linney is basically Queen of the Emmys. Wouldn't be surprised if she racks up another.

Betty White owned the past year. And let's face it, she doesn't have too many "there's always next year"s left. She'll win.

As much as I love Justified, I think best dramatic actor is Steve Buscemi's to lose. It's a more high profile show, and a more obviously great (not in a disparaging way) role. Olyphaunt is a great actor, though I think the first season was actually a bit better for him, he was sadly overlooked.

The majority of nominations are for shows I don't care about. But I will be pulling for the Justified and Big Bang Theory nominees, as they're pretty much the only shows among the lists that I like.

    Ty Burell deserved that win.

I must have gotten a bogus list because they didn't even mention Amy Pholer.

Great opening number by Jane Lynch btw.

Wait was that lead or supporting actress.

That was funny. I wonder if Amy running up at the mention of her name was spontaneous, or something the ladies planned.

Peter Dinklage is amazing on Game of Thrones. He deserved that Emmy.
Dean: So, what do we do now?

I know either last year or the year before they all wore funny glasses except for one one the actresses.

Congrats to Modern Family for going 4 for 4 in the opening for catagories.

Yeah that was supporting actress that Bowen won. Pholer was nominated for lead which went to Melissa.

Congrats to Jason Katims and Kyle Chandler. It should have been the trifecta.

    Did parson's win surprise anyone?

If FNL wins, it won't be as a parting gift. It'll be because it's one of the greatest dramas in the history of television.

Aye. A pity it wasn't properly recognized by the Emmys in years past, but then again, the show got along without them just fine.

Wellp, I stand corrected about Mad Men. Here's something worth retweeting, from TV critic Phil Rosenthal: The #Emmys have somehow managed to make a Mad Men win for best drama seem like an upset.

Still, congrats to Mad Men. I'll be tuning in for the next season, as always.

Did I miss guest actress in a comedy series? or did they not show it. Congrats to Modern Family for winning all five catagories they were nominated in. Shame on Ariel Winter's parents for letting her wear that dress. She's only fifteen people.
